Aedes de Venustas is introducing Serge Lutens' latest creation Nuit de Cellophane.

Nuit de Cellophane's captivating composition is obtained from notes of Chinese osmanthus and delicate white flowers. A subtle fruitiness is given by notes of mandarin and hints of apricot. The clean, soft dry down make Nuit de Cellophane a luminous and ethereal Eau de Parfum. An Osmanthus creation that is delicate yet mysterious.

I would be in heaven trying this, I do love the scent of osmanthus. Hopefully the white flowers will not make it too sharp, as they are sometimes prone to do.

And I hope for a woody base. Let's see what the fruity floral genre does in SL's hands.

How very exciting! I can't wait to try this either. Osmanthus is definitely my thing as well. The apricot is a little worrying, though, but, in it's defence, Daim Blonde is my favorite leather...

Isn't Nombre Noir a rather famous osmanthus scent that Serge Lutens created (artistically directed)? It seems like he knows how to handle the osmanthus note, which I've read can be difficult, though I'd like to hear from our do-it-yourselfers on that point. I'm looking forward to trying this, as I seem to LOVE many Serge Lutens creations! Might be time for an Aedes sample order!!

I am both lucky and unlucky enough to live within walking distance of Aedes. Lately I try to avoid going in. The folks are so kind and generous, the boudoir decor and smells are so dizzyingly seductive, I am likely to sniff, love, and buy. A bad plan for me right now.
When I go into Saks, I am so put off by the aggressiveness of the SAs that it is easy for me to sniff and walk away. But not so Aedes. It appears that I must gird my loins, enter, and sniff this new SL though. Wish me luck. I will try to get there this week.

I'm anxiously awaiting your report on Nuit de Cellophane
