Your favorite highly synthetic frags ?

I was thinking about how some frags have a synthetic quality that ruins things, whereas in others it seems to be a necessary element to it. For me, this is true for Dunhill Desire (red) and Xeryus Rouge. On the other hand, Corduroy had a synthetic quality that just wouldn't stop bothering me. What are your favorites?

Dunhill Pursuit has an incense note that I alternate between loving as beautiful dark smoke and hating as choking, stifling burnt plastic. Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts also has a highly synthetic opening but it's still a pretty good summer alternative to VIW.

Bulgari Acqua pour homme MARINE (calone galore, but I like it.)

Two more guilty pleasures:

Echo/Davidoff (metal aldehyde, and btw what the heck is living liquid air???)

Cerruti Image (synthetic just-about-everything)

Vetiver Tonka has a synthetic quality that makes it work, it kind of amps up the dry smokiness of the vetiver.

There's another one that just came to mind: ST Dupont's Signature for men. I thought it might work for me but that synthetic thing just wouldn't let it happen.

Comme des Garçons Synthetic Series. Seriously. I'm not just flexing my flair for the obvious or being sarcastic. Garage, Tar, Skai, and Dry Clean are my favorites in this series from the house I immediately associate with 'synthetic.' IMO Comme des Garçons is the industry leader in using synthetics to create unusual, innovative, daring, and enjoyable fragrances. I find many CdG scents challenging to wear but I appreciate them on their terms without looking to improve on them.

I have no very little idea which notes are synthetic. I'd love to have more opportunity smell synthetics.
I'm guessing that Bulgari Black gets most of it's rubber effects from synthetics, yeah?

Anything by Francis Kurkjian. Almost all of his work is either an extremely synthetic masterpiece or at least extremely synthetic and controversial.

Versace Man Eau Fraîche (2006)
by Versace

My SotD! It's definately synthetic, it's not trying to pretend otherwise, it still garners compliments!

Oh and any CdG frag.

They have a "I'm HIGHLY synthetic and proud of it!" swagger to them

Kenzo Amour and TF White Patchouli are 2 highly synthetic ones that I like alot.

Bulgari Black and Kenzo Vintage Edition Peace, I tried to like them, but ultimately I could not. Strange if you consider that Amour is not so far away from Black artistically.

For me too, I really love Desire. Im actually wearing it today. Very bright, fruity, and sweet, but with a bergamot edge and a mellow deep woodsiness underneath it all. Although I think it smells totally synthetic and engineered, Ive gotten endless compliments on it, and its my wifes fav on me. She always says it smells like Earl Grey Tea.

Well, obviously the all synthetic Escentric Molescules Escentric 01 is a showcase of Iso E Super, and I happen to like it a lot. Same with Hermes Poivre Samarcande. I don't know what the natural content of Elixir de Merveilles is - I assume not much - and it's favorite as well.

Whether or not something contains synthetics doesn't bother me - it's when something smells 'cheap', usually the result of inferior synthetics or low oil concentration that I'm bothered. I tend to assume that most fragrances I own and try have a large % of synthetics in them, and that naturals are the rarer ingredients.

-I've always liked the opening of Polo Black which has an interesting synthetic/ozon/mango note to me.

L'eau par Kenzo. This is a synthetic blast of citrus and water freshness that has no peer in quality.
