Welcome back to the studio and The road to The Final Spritz. Somerville Metro Man here recapping the last two days of action in Basenotes.net's March Madness 2009. The second #1 seed of the tournament Hermes Hermessence Vetiver Tonka swung into action in the Comme des Garcons Region. It was no contest as the Tonka Truck got out in front and rolled over the sixteenth seeded Versace Man, 41-9. Next up for them is the eight seed, Chanel pour Monsieur Concentree, which won a classic back and forth battle with ninth seeded Guerlain Derby. This was close until about the halfway mark when Chanel built up a slight lead it held until the end. Knocking the Derby off of the Tournament hat rack, 23-20. There was action in the lower half of the Comme des Garcons bracket, too. The second seed, Hermes Terre D'Hermes had an easy time pulling the terre out from underneath the fifteenth seed Bvlgari pour Homme, 35-13. They will face another blow out winner in Guerlain Jicky, the seventh seed which beat Issey Miyake L'Eau D'issey pour Homme, 41-15. We are still on track for an all-Hermes final in the CdG bracket if the seeds hold true.
The Creed Region finally got underway with two games. The early action was a big upset when the thirteenth seeded MPG Santal Noble upeneded Caron Tabac Blond, 26-15. The Sandalwood Shooters were hot form the get go and while Tabac Blond kept it close early they finally couldn't keep up with Santal Noble's torrid pace and lost. The late game was another upset as the twelfth seeded Yves St. Laurent Rive Gauche pour Homme took out fifth seeded Caron Le Troiseme Homme. The right bankers threw a right hook that the Third Men couldn't recover from making Caron 0-for-2 in the Creed Bracket.
The remining action was in the Serge Lutens Region where upsets were also the order of the day. The eleventh seeded Creed Bois du Portugal entered the tournament muttering about lack of respect and took out their frustration on Costume National Scent Intense, 36-9. It was never close and the Boys of Portugal were playing to the Creedheads in the stands before the first half was over. Costume National Scent Intense came into the tournament riding such high hopes with their sixth seed but it looks like they were wearing a costume called contender. The other game in the Serge Lutens Region was a closer match as fourteenth seed Robert Piguet Bandit stole a 26-20 victory over the scent so nice its named twice Shiseido Basala/Basara. The Tournament Thieves are going to have to be quick on the nozzle if they expect to repeat their heroics when they meet Bois du Portugal in the next round.
That's it from the studio we'll get you back out to game action out on the Male Fragrance Discussion Board in just a moment.
Keep voting and watching as only you have the ability to determine the winner.
