Read your blog and can see you are bored with juice at the present. I can relate.

My point to this thread is that your reviews do not suck like you stated in your post. Last year when I started buying mucho scents, I based alot of my blind buys on reviews by Foetidus, Vibert and YOU.

You're probably a little burnt out from jumping headlong into this hobby. Like I said, I can relate. Just so you know, you have something to offer on this board.

You totally should not be doing something you're bored with or that doesn't make you happy. But for what it's worth, my lil newbie self really appreciated my first profile visit. Your reviews, blogs, and posts are wry, witty, and down-to-earth.

So whatever you end up doing-- if you're really just on a break from posting and still log on to read, or if you're offline for a while, or if you're done for good-- I hope you check back and see that you are missed.

As has been said to many others before you and will be said to others after you.
If it isn't making you happy it is time to step away. If and when you decide that its time to find your bliss again with scented juice in a bottle we'll all still be here.

I for one hope that your sojourn is a brief one. It has always impressed me how you have maintained a high output of reviews, yet never dropped the standard, Seems like a difficult thing to have pulled off. No doubt we will see you again once your nose is refreshed. :toppie:

i guess being a member of this community is like being married. it has its up's and downs.

cheerup Slarty, you know how we enjoy your witty remarks and reviews. the community is changing wiht many new posters...ofcourse, there is a elite group, but wht the heck..we can have our small party

After two-thousand-six-hundred-n-something reviews, its no wonder you're all burnt out.

I could sense when you PM'd me the other day that you were feeling short and irritable.

Just go find another hobby in the meantime. We'll be here if and when you decide to post again.

Hang in there Slarty, some days I also just don't feel like pursuing my fragrance hobby and I wonder why I'm even pursueing this hobby at all, but that all comes to pass eventually and I fall in love with fragrance again

PS: Your reveiws are incredible, you really have a passion for fragrance that is very apparent from your reveiws on them

I am glad he is taking a break.

Writing 1300+ reviews in less than a year would take a toll on anyone. That is between 3 and 4 a day, every day, on average.

I have sought and still seek out samples and make purchases based on your reviews.

Slarty - the only reason I didn't say this earlier is that I wanted to respect your wishes about not PMing. You're definitely one of the brightest spots at Basenotes. I ALWAYS look for your reviews. Your opinion is valuable to me, but your sense of humor is even more so.

I think it's helpful to take a break, and you should do that. But I want you to remember that you have friends here. I'm worried that you might be having some rough times right now. I've had some rough times myself. If you want to talk, just PM me. Otherwise, relax and get your mojo back.
