Since this one has recently made it to Marshalls, I figured people might be interested in talking and/or learning about it. So please share your opinions here

OK, does anyone else think it's a knock-off of Polo Double Black? It smells very similar to me. And I must say I like it quite a bit.

I know it is highly rated, FIFI award candidate for 2009

No this is not particularly similar to PDB. This one begins with a strong woodiness that doesn't last long at all. Then you can smell the "sea accord," which is well done, and about as natural smelling as I've encountered. Fortunately, it is not strong and after a while you just get an occasional waft of it. Instead, this is a "skin scent" that accomplishes something major (IMO of course), which is to present an iris type note in a way that is not soapy, powdery, or metallic/cold/sharp. This is not sweet either (and in no way a gourmand), which again often ruins all kinds of scents. If you are seeking a searing, one-dimensional niche type scent you will be disappointed. This one is for those who want a "classy' type of "clean." This is as good as it gets for this sort of thing at $10 or so for 50 ml or more!

Are you not a fan of soft suede/iris skin scents? If so, any particular reason?
