Facial hair and ethnicity

Thread Starter
I am a Malaysian of chinese descent. It is common knowledge that most chinese males (and most east asians) have very little facial hair and body hair. Well there are exceptions and i'm not one of them. On an average i shave only 3 times a week. I'm 26 and i can't even grow a decent looking beard.

Some people tell me that its blessing that i don't have to shave everyday. Some say a lack of facial hair makes a person less masculine. I personally would want to have slightly more facial hair.

So fellow members what are your opinions?

whenever i try growing a beard, i look like a serial killer. it doesnt get full. it just grows strange. i went over a month without shaving and all it got was itchy.

its a genetic thing. my dad used to have a beard. it just doesnt come in right. i would sell my soul to the devil to have a beard like zach galiinankis (the comedian). i have his hair though. anyway...

this is him and me

(this is after about a month)

I tried to grow a mustache once. I looked like a 70s porn star. It never got past a pencil line width. I only shave 4 times a week and still have less stubble than most men coming home from work.

Cheers,
Al

I'm Eastern European-Caucasian, with quite pale complexion and light brown to chestnut brown hair and facial hair and I shave once every other day and although I could probably grow some decent beard, I was clean shaven since my early teens, with no change of facial hair style.
