Help to find a v.good non-niche Patchouli, for less than $50 ?

I have won a prize with a budget of less than $50! ... I already know most of the excellent niche Patchouli's. But am now looking for recommendations for an excellent (or very good ) non-niche mainstream/designer interesting Patchouli scent to fit this budget. That I hopefully find good enough to happily wear, after being so heavily spoiled by all the excellent niche Patchouli offerings.
Or failing that ... a very good Vanilla (or even both, a Patchouli/Vanilla???) ... I really will appreciate any suggestions.

Is Reminiscence considered niche in the UK? Because their original patchouli is really something.

That should get you Les Nereides Patchouli Antique - very good niche fragrance at a designer price.

if you are willing to add $10 more, then, Les Nereides Patchouli Antique is available for $60. it's really top of the class Patch based scent. it's available at luckyscent.

Yep thanks guys, I already know the Les Nereides one amd the Reminescence one too.. Unfortunately I have to redeem the prize in the form of an actual bottle of fragrance from their "mainstream" store. They only stock your average "fare". So it will have to be one of those, I'm afraid. I'm just stuck as I really don't know what to choose, having been so spoilt with all the niche stuff.

Molinard Patchouli. Givenchy Gentleman has lots of patchouli as well.

Sorry have that one already ... and need it to be stronger and more prominent Patchouli than what is in Michael. I do not find M too strong on the Patchouli. But thanks for the recommendation all the same.

Gentleman is your best bet, but may cost you a bit more than $50. Caswell-Massey's Aura of Patchouli is $30 and they're currently having an online sale as well. The C-M is a clean Patch though, and is pretty unlike Gentleman.

Thanks Mudassir ... I do not know the Molinard one ... and cannot remember the G Gentleman ... will investigate those two . Do you have a fave out these two? Which one would you consider stronger Patchouli out the two ?

Lothantique Patchouli is only $11.20 for 100 ml. You can buy it from the website and use the leftover $$ in your budget to pay for the shipping to the U.K. It is a very nice light patchouli.

Givenchy Gentleman can be had for under $40. I've seen it for $28 for the 1.7 oz. size. Should be available in UK.

It's hard to find great patchouli fragrances for under $40. Body Shop patchouli oil is pretty good and is under $40.

for about twice as much you can grab a bottle of the very best pure patchouli made, imo: Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561 Patchouly Indonesiano. This is pure and almost a mystical experience. But it is a bit pricey here in the US (luckyscent) but may cost less in the EU. Actually, the Lothantique Patch is almost as good and is about one tenth the price!

I will have to check with the prize giver's store , I think they may have G Gentleman ... but I doubt they will have Caswell- Massey . I think I also prefer my Patchouli "dirty" , rather than "cleaned up" .

Unfortunately I have to choose a scent, it is not an actual cash prize. It is a "bottle of scent" prize. And the guy's store is actually in the States somewhere ... so it will be shipped from there. So anything that is readily available in the States will be just fine. (The prize includes the shipping out to me here in the UK.)

I'll second this one. I bought a nice sized bottle in Paris a few weeks ago. Something vaguely floral is thrown in, but pretty much a straightforward patch. I think it was around $30 for a 100ml bottle. A steal!
