Aquatics with good longevity.

I know aquatics aren't too popular around here, but I'm young, and I like smelling "fresh." I love Perry Ellis 360 red, but it's too weak and doesn't last. Are there any long lasting aquatics? Would YSL Live Jazz and Halston Unbound be good?
I've had good experiences with Halston Unbound, Givenchy Pour Homme (Red Bottle) Fougères Marines and Essenza Di Zegna.

Also add Mugler Cologne, Original Vetiver and Silver Mountain Water.
When i read your topic, i was about to suggest Unbound but i see you are inquiring about it.

Try Nautica Voyage too. I think it smells wonderful and has excellent staying power.

Would Cool Water or Cool Water Frozen work well for me (longevity and smell wise)?

Issey Miyake l'eau d'Issey is the king of longevity for aquatic fragrances. Azzaro Chrome is also very long lasting, but often Issey will last on me through a shower.

Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey Eau D'ete Summer Edition - I could smell this on a test card 4 days after I sprayed it. I don't know if it would be considered a classic aquatic scent, unless eating summer fruit around a swimming pool counts.

Jordan by Michael Jordan is the one that gives me 12 hours os aquatic notes
post #12 of 41
Gai Mattiolo UOMO lasts on me more than 10 hours with 4 sprays. This is a sleeper.
Forget everything the others have recommended............Z Zegna (Zanye Ya) is the best aqautic out there. Period. Erolfa is nice, SMW is gorgeous, but Z...a pedestrian designer entry is superior.....superior to AdG, 360 Red, Tommy Bahama So Cool, L'eau D'Issey....It is possibly the best thing you would EVER find at Dillards...an aquatic that becomes a second skin musk more beautiful than L'eau par Kenzo (which is nearly impossible) and more gorgeous (though not as potent as) Fougeres Marines by Montale
post #14 of 41
Add Riverside Drive......potent

I'm young and like aquatics too. Do yourself a favor and check out the Creed line, especially Silver Mountain Water. Best longevity I've ever experienced with an aquatic, I only ever need one spray for the day.

And definitely buy online, you get Creeds for MUCH cheaper online.

You'd probably also enjoy Bond No. 9's Wall Street. Insanely long lasting for an aquatic.

Azzaro Chrome
Davidoff Echo

Silver Mountain Water not only smells awesome but lasts all day on me which I love

lacoste essential is good aquatics smell u wont be disspoint try it and tell me what you think kk
post #19 of 41
Aqva Marine by Bulgari last about 11 hours on my skin and it heavy on the marine notes.

212 is also long lasting and strong on marine notes also.

Others would be Kenzo Pour Homme and Aqua di Aqua both of these have the deep true iodine marine note that some may find gross -

I second these two. Though more fruity than aquatic, these two are just as jovial than anything else out there.
Joop Nightflight! smelt horrible to my nose, and I love young, fresh aquatics. Azzaro Chrome is my vote. Lacoste Essential is more green than aquatic, but still good. It's been ages since I tested it though, can't speak to its longevity.
hey he wanted something with longevity dont mention Essential then,
my vote would go to Issey Miyake and Kenzo PH or Fresh version if PH will be too strong
post #25 of 41
Lacoste Essential last very long on my skin and it has good longevity
post #26 of 41
Most of the scents mentioned above that I've tried have excellent longevity on me too.

The only way you'll know for sure is to test them. Spray some of your final candidates on your wrist or back of hands. If they're still there with some strength after three hours, you can consider buying them.

If they're weak or non existent at the three hour mark, forget them.

Agree! I also suggest Unbound.

Give Kenzo pour homme a try.

Unbound lasts and lasts and lasts, but the tomato leaf opening is a bit of a rough patch for me. The drydown is fantastic though. best yet, it is cheap as hell!

others to gander at millesime imperial (though people claim it doesnt last long, its a good 7-8 hours on me), and erolfa (good 10 hours, but not for me).
Z Zegna is really nice
but the longevity is trash
what a shame
I suggust 360 red, Live Jazz (more orange) and aqua di geo

This one, definitely!

YSL Live Jazz is long-lasting, too, but I never thought of it as an aquatic scent.

Bulgari aqua has good longevity.
Bulgari Aqua reminds me of the old-time powerhouses. Plus it's fantastic!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I'm definitely going to try Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey, Unbound, Nautica and the Bulgari one. There's no way I'm buying Creed though, too expensive for my small-timer bank roll.

You might want to add Givenchy Blue Label to that list.

Great longevity, silage and the vetiver and cedar dry down is wonderful.

You'll like the Issey, I think.

I'm so glad that you mentioned Aqua marine. I just don't really get why people hate it so much.
lol I tried aqua marine by Bulgari, It smell very different then the original one but I love the original thinking of getting 30 ml for myself hehe.
I'll second Erolfa.. it's a great aquatic!

Also, give a sniff to Versace PH. It's a bit heavier than some aquatics - a bit woodier in the drydown and a bit more formal/elegant - but also has more depth than some, I feel. Excellent longevity on my skin!

This one doesn't have much development but it's very very fresh and utilizes mint (a tricky note) quite well - Hugo XY. It's aquatic in the sense that it smells like water.. frozen. Like a freezer full of ice. Very clear/transparent smelling. Longevity is good but not great. Still, it's something quite different than most of the aquatics.

Nautica Voyage is quite nice too and has a strong mimosa note in it. Very smooth.

Lastly, I really enjoyed Nautica Oceans. It smells a bit like Allure Homme Sport (lots of bittersweet lemon action), but is saltier and somehow smoother, to my nose, especially once the lavender in the heart kicks in. This perfume is different too in that it does not use alcohol as a solvent but instead uses only pure water - this gives it a much different feel on skin. It is really refreshing to spray on, and of course there is not even a moment of alcohol in the topnotes.

Out of all the ones mentioned so far, Fougeres Marines by Montale lasts the longest on my skin.

L'eau de Issey is more of a citrus scent, but it does last for quite awhile as well!

Happy sampling!

Gonna drop down that Escada Moon Sparkle for Men has miraculous longevity on my skin - especially for an aquatic. I can still smell it strongly 16+ hours after application.
