WHich one you think is best?
Eh, give me Versace PH, Amouage Arcus, or Creed Erolfa or L'eau Par Kenzo (or Nautica Voyage or Oceans, or Montale Sandflowers...) anyday.

Well, if I had to choose one, I'd go with the original Aqua because of its originality. I just don't like it that much though.
Not even close. The regular Aqua is the better one IMO.
To me there is no contest - Bulgari Aqua is the winner by a mile.

Bvlgari Aqva.....all day long....
Is Aqva Marine THAT different compared to the original?I find it to be just saltier and that's it.I expect to receive a collector's bottle of Marine.
But I can justify the succes of the original. My bottle was emptied in record-breaking time last summer...

They are definitely two distinct scents. And although Jacques Cavallier claims they share the same poseidonia note, it's not true.

I'd give a 50/50
I'll go Aqua Marine. I really don't like either, but at least Aqua Marine doesn't turn sour on my skin.
I think both are boring and have no originality. If I have to go with one then it'll be Aqva because at least the top notes smell different. Aqva Marine is just a shameless copy of AdG, nothing more, maybe not as masculine and last a little longer but it's actually a pain when I try it on my skin.
Aqva, easily.. I found Aqva Marine to be actually quite disgusting on my skin, whereas Aqva is quite refined, pleasant and easily formal or casual. Sometimes I really hate flankers!
marine version is totally a disaster... !
This is a close race!
Is there a third choice?

..... ok, I'll go with Bulgari Aqua (in any case, I'm sensitive to any scent with the word marine)

Have you ever visited the fragrance directory?

Aqua: 45+ 17- 15N
Aqua Marine: 3+ 8- 8N

Clear enough I think!

The original AQUA of course, its completely original and theres nothing else like it out there. The marine flanker is actually good in its own right and the bottle is pretty as well, but because it is the brother of the original it gets held to a very high standard that it doesnt quite meet on the grounds of style and originality. Had it been its own standalone scent, I think people would have rated it more fairly.

I absolutely ADORE the original though.

good, i have just order mine 50 ml from cheapsmells.com

Original is a disaster - Marine hits it on the nail!
I like and own both but Marine is my favourite, IMO it's more original and people who smelled me wearing both told me that Aqva Marine really stands out compared to Aqva.
I tried to like Aqua but it just never took. Tried Aqua Marine and like it better but - as long as I have Sel d' Vetiver, Ice*Men, All American, Versace pour Homme, Baraja, and even Fierce . . . I can't see a compelling reason to add either of these two.

Aqua Marine smells nothing like Acqua di Gio to me. It smells really fruity and not salty/sour at all.
bvlgari aqua all the way...marine version is just ˝meh˝
post #29 of 46
I don't like them. If I was forced to choose, Aqua would win for it's originality.
Its not even close. Definitely original Aqva.
Aqva Marine has great opening but turns into salty nothing really quick.
The original and Best.

I have minis of both, and I like them both. I voted for Marine because in the summer I love that seaweed note I don't get from the original. I like all the ocean notes I get from the Marine just a tad more than the original.

Ditto.

Bulgari Aqua is better then the marine version.
I vote Marine, although not a big fan of either. Bulgari Aqua I find too floral and feminine for my taste. It might smell nice on a woman.

Bvlgari Aqua...feminine...check.
Aqua is more interesting, Marine is more generic, though it has a nice touch of fishiness which I find quite pleasing sometimes.
I don't like them to be honest. If i were forced to choose, i rather not to do it as well. willing to be punished lol!
I didn't like Aqua much, but I liked Marine even less.

i like both but i only get decent longevity from aqua marine..
I like the bottle design, and I like the bottle of Marine better. The smell, also goes to Marine for me.

Are you sure? I know we all have different senses of smell but I get a peppery(many others have too), salty, spicy scent from Aqua and that is through a whole bottle. I found zero in it that you'd find feminine. It beats the heck out of Marine. JMO
post #44 of 46
I wish I had seen this thread before I blind bought Aqua Marine a few months back. If someone wants to swap for it, PM me.
Tested Aqua on my skin several times and I always have liked it better than Aqua Marine although I only smelled AM on paper until today when I received a sample of it. This confirms my answer. Aqua is the superior one.
Not sure why so many people dislike Aqua Marine...

To me, it's a good summer scent. On the hottest days, it cuts through the heat and keeps me smelling fresh and clean for hours. My only gripe is that it is somewhat synthetic and I get bored of it after a while. Still, it serves its purpose, better than most fragrances in 90+ degree days.
