Lately I've been reading people's musings about older vintage chypres and I think that it finally got to me. EBay can be a wonderful and wicked mistress. Late last night I was hunting for the obscure and decided to type in "chypre". Who would have thought that it would lead me to one of the most bizarre purchases in my EBay experience. I just purchased the following:
11 bottles of Coty Cypre Friction Lotion Perfume Tonic. It is described on the case as "Coty non-oily single friction for the hair. Cleanses the scalp. Removes all trace of grease and leaves a new attractive lustre. Speeds up the drying of the hair after shampoo and prepares it to take a deeper and softer wave. It is exhilarating, refreshing, and an excellent tonic which stimulates the growth of the hair. Hair, fragrant with a Coty Perfume, is not only pleasing to oneself, but attractive to others."
Case No. 2946 is filled (minus 1) with 7" bottles with red wax seals.
Is it official - that I'm certifiably nuts?
