Worst Fragrance Ever???

This probably has been posted before, but I'm pretty new, and I'm interested in what you think is the single worst fragrance you've ever smelled, and why (try to pick just one, and be specific about what it is about the frag you really hate).

My pick: Lilac Vegetal (Pinaud). It literally smells like urine mixed with rotting cabbage. And those are the top notes!

Worst was a fake AdG lol, sooooo bad. Aside from that its PS Design, nasty stuff.

Notwithstanding copies, and the cheapest end of the market which I have never tried, Juicy Couture's Dirty English.

Why? Because it smells awful.

"The Vilest Scent Ever - Sécrétions Magnifiques"
and there have been quite a few threads in a similar vein on that scent since.

If you search for it, you will find around 90% of responses saying it's vile, around 9% saying it's not that bad, and 1% saying they like it.

One of the worst for me is YSL M7. Nasty medical scent. Too much Agarwood I suppose. There's probably worse out there but nothing I have disliked more than M7 until now.

edit: just checked my book, luca turin gives it a 5 star "masterpiece" rating.... wtf??

ck IN2U - cheap and weak. At least AMen and M7 tried to do something different. Both this? Why bother - unless you want to cynically make money off of people who buy a fragrance based on an ad in Tiger Beat.

I have a soft place in my heart for nasty stinkers but this one as you pointed out gets the cake ... I bought it a few months ago and returned it promptly. Total barf in a bottle.

Glad to hear someone else has tried this horror. Yes, I will agree that many of the scents cited so far suck (esp. Romance For Men, AdG), but I doubt any of them come close to being as disgusting as Lilac Vegetal. This fragrance is so bad, it's actually worth picking up as a joke - a huge plastic 8 oz. bottle only costs like 6 bucks.

I'd rather focus on frags meant to be "good" but failed badly, so SM is out (they succeeded in their goal, apparently). Dior's Higher might be called boring, but vile? In any case, the Carlo Corinto ones are pretty badly made (I tried the original, Rouge, and Silver). It's like they try to make a more powerful version of a known frag and they create something nauseating. Rouge is like a bad Eternity copy, for example (and I think Eternity is awful).

Unforgivable. Bought a tiny bottle blind. Didn't even spray it on my skin. That fizzy melon made me immediately sick. Took it out to the garbage within minutes.

that was my initial impression as well , when i first tried m7 but it grew on me and is now one of my faves. happens to alot of ppl with scents they hated initially.

BUT there are 2 which i really cannot stand, and they are ck escape(smells of sour tropical punch) and Hugo by hugo boss. these 2 have the worst dry downs,the lingering notes left on clothing and/or skin is horrid. extremely repulsive to me.

There are a couple fragrances I've come into contact with that I absolutely will NEVER wear because to my nose they are very unpleasant are:

A*Men
Citrus Paradisi

If you check the threads, Secretions M has a few very devoted admirers, both here and in print. I don't think it can be ruled out so casually, especially given the premium price it commands.
Arguably, in the true spirit of the word, it's the most niche of niche scents.

If Sécrétions Magnifiques is even worse than some of my favorite scents you have mentioned here, like M7, A*Men, Narciso Rodriguez for Him and Fougère Bengale, I am definitely going to give it a chance.

i could feel the ache from "Has to be Fahrenheit". not that i'm trying to be defensive, but i really feel just that tad upset coz its at most unlikable, but "worst" is way too harsh. i love my fahrenheit and m7, then again to each his own.

Everything I've ever smelled pales in comparison to Trusardi Fresh.

I still have a bottle I bought blind cheap at TJ MAXX. Every once in a while I have to smell it just to remind myself how bad a fragrance can really be.

I always forget Fougere Bengale in these threads. It was one of the first niches I tried and boy is it gross. And funny enough, the second one I'm going to add is from the same house as your first scent, Jade. :Shudder:

I have another. Gucci Rush for men (the one in the ugly white square box/bottle). Smells like burning incense sticks and way too much wood. Perhaps that's the point of it but it's definately not for me!

I'm not going to lie. I haven't either. But I fear ordering a sample as a part of another order, lest some of it leaks on to the other samples. You see, there in lies my dilemma. But if I were to create said thread, I would, as the thread starter have to try it. From everything I hear, it's worse than bad.
