I got two blind buys on the same day. Annick Goutal Mon Parfum Cherie par Camille reinforces the blind buy. If I were to mistake my lucky randomness for logic I would never have to smell another...
Fourreau Noir makes me consider the possibilities of copying and repetition. Part of a series, variation on a theme? Uninventive, deliberate, derivative? ...
At first sniff I get cumin quite strong and maybe some nutmeg trying to cover up . . . no other way to say it, an awful stench of burning onions with some other odd camphor. Sounds strange and...
I had a long perfectly civil acquaintanceship with Duc de Vervins long before I elected to purchase a bottle. I tried it several times at Bergdorf's and passed on it thinking it is too strong;...
Cool, but sunny Tirrenco opens up with dry, bitter orange peel and a very stark ouzo (or, if you prefer, vodka infused with fennel bulb). There's an undercurrent of salty detritus, washed up on a...
Can't say any of the Burberry fragrances blow me away, but Brit isn't too bad, although it is very similar to Gucci Envy to me, albeit a much toned-down version.
Hi guys! It;s my first post over here on the men's side, hope you don't mind! Anyway, my boyfriend and I love Burberry London. It's very sexy on him, a warm, cozy, subtly spicy, piney scent that reminds me a bit of Christmas, in a good way. It may in fact be one of his Christmas presents this year! (Shh, don't tell.)
I disliked Burberry Brit initially, but having used it for several days, it is one that has great charm. It is undoubtedly my favourite of the current crop.
I do however miss the original version I had back in 1981, which in my opinion remains the best thing Burberry have ever done.

1) Burberry for Men
2) Burberry Brit
3) Burberry London
4) Burberry Summer
5) Burberry The Beat
6) Burberry Touch (Hate it)
I'm not really too found of any of them really
Burberry for Men is a little too fruity
Burberry Brit is a little too powdery
Burberry London is a little too sweet 'licoricey'
Burberry Summer is too loud/sour
Burberry The Beat is too much like a bad synthetic knock off of a Versace Man Eau Fraiche
Burberry Touch is just a complete mess. I don't even know what else to say.
Brit is too generic/boring to me. I sampled Touch for the first time yesterday, and it's not at all bad, but I think there's a violet leaf note that I don't care for that is a bit too strong. I'd swap it for London, which I tried once and found it be something I'd wear once a month or so.

The only Burberry frag I would have in my wardrobe is The Beat, which I plan to add shortly. I dont get any resemblance between The Beat and Versace Man Eau Fraiche at all. I get kind of a citrus-peppery-vetiver from the Beat.
I absolutely hated all Burberrys up until a week or so ago when I retried them at the store (just to make sure, which I do all the time with fragrances and food).
Well, what the heck do you know? On second try I immediately loved and bought London and Touch. Still don't care for original, Brit or The Beat. Haven't tried Weekend but I've only heard terrible things about it.
The conehead in me asks -- why christmas? Pine, Xmas tree notes? Or spicy mulled wine notes??? Or candycane notes???
Hi Ody -- definitely piney Christmas tree notes. On my boyfriend (as I recall; it's been a while since we sampled it) there's a very long, very distinct stage where we both thought he smelled just like a Christmas tree, and it brought back all sorts of good memories of going to pick out the tree with my family when I was little. I guess this is the mid-notes stage. It gets a little sweeter and milder in the end, but the piney stage does last a good while. Give it a sniff -- you might like it! I think you like Fou d'Absinthe, don't you? I smelled London first, a good while ago, and FdA much later, but I'm thinking there is a bit of similarity there in the piney notes.
Burberry is one of my favorite houses. I own and enjoy London, Touch, and Brit, and would probably recommend them in that order. I need to sample The Beat soon.
It would have to be the Original, followed by touch...... most of their scents are very light, and have poor longevity, but considering the price range, they are quite worth spending on. I dislike weekend tho
