Secretions Magnifique meet your new Opponent

Stecca by Hilde Soliani, is the most vile, downright vomit inducing scent I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to smell. It's the smell of a chemistry lab and tomatoes gone totally awry. Unlike Secretions Magnifique though, this was not made to smell this bad, or at least I hope not. I have never been driven this close to tears from a smell, and like all bad smells it won't go away easily. If you're fan of nuclear tomatoes (stems included) or if you enjoy olfactory pain I dare you to try this.

I haven't tried that one, but I tried a couple of others from that house and was very unimpressed.

Thanks, I looked it up. Interesting that at Luckyscent of 4 reviews it got one 5 star review, 2 four stars and 1 one star. So some people seem to be able to enjoy it.

I am not a fan of the tomato leaf note in fragrance; at least not to date. I remember encountering it first in Lacoste's Essential, and it made the fragrance unwearable to me.

And I had to check SM at Luckyscent too. It received three 5 stars (after subtracting one incorrect rating), one 3 star, and three 1 star ratings. Interesting.

Oh, don't go into it with that frame of reference. Lacoste Essential smells at least decent if ultimately boring. This smells down right awful. There are NO supporting notes, no sweetness. Zilch. Ughhhhhh, I can't bear to think of it.

You feel that way because you probably haven't yet smelled Lilac Vegetal by Pinaud. I'd rather smell nuclear tomatoes than LV's encrusted piss top note, corned beef middle note and boiled cabbage base note. For 6 bucks, it's worth getting a bottle just to be horrified.

The worst scent I own is What about Adam?, which is full of tomato leaf.

Stecca means a (musical) note sung wrong , a dissonance, a misstake. That regularly made the audiance throw tomatoes at the villain - nice ritual if well prepared, though.

Bad (singing) - (overripe) Tomatoes is the right accord about the wrong note ... it has been made to evoke the story. To my nose natural violet leaves have a slightly nauseating sweet chemical smell, go figure! I like Eau De Campagne, so I'll have to try this one once at least, thank You!

l too was unimpressed; l got Vecchi Rosetti as a free sample with a luckyscent order, & it smelled exactly like the inside of an elderly lady's handbag. Blech! Fortunately it was gone after an hour.
