I love Cheetos! That's why I never buy them. I always eat the whole bag in one sitting.

I'm having a Newcastle Brown Ale at the excellent suggestion of Andyjreid.

Actually a Newcastle Brown Ale AND a bag of Cheetos would be the perfect TGIF snack!

I'm having a handful of Marcona almonds and some plain iced coffee.

Thanks, it really is a a great dish and actually very easy to make.

You make about a dozen stuffed peppers when the peppers are in season and cheap and plentiful, and you put them in an airtight container in the fridge and you can eat them all week as a side or as a main course. You can reheat them in the microwave, and they actually taste better the longer they sit in the fridge. I like to crumble some goat's milk or sheep's milk feta over the rice when it's hot. Really amazing stuff. It's my mother's recipe. I grew up eating this dish at least once a week. My mother would also stuff tomatoes, zucchini, and even potatoes. The photo is the actual dish as soon as it come out of the oven this afternoon.

Best regards,

scentemental

P.S. Cheetos are a serious weakness with me.

Ooh, scentimental, you should include the full recipe instructions on the Yummy Thing You've Consumed Lately thread. I think of it as a repository of Basenoters' recipes. I *love* stuffed peppers. Those are perfectly browned and the whole dish looks beautiful and scrumptious!

I just made a huge batch of caramelized onions for a salad I'm serving tomorrow. Good thing I made extra because I keep nibbling at them.

I promise I will get around to doing so an_oud_girl. Thanks for the kind words.

It's my mom's birthday, so I made her a 2-layer black magic cake filled with apricot jam and frosted with a whipped chocolate ganache. Since it sank a little in the middle, I trimmed it before frosting, so it would be flat on top and tried the combo using the trimmings. It's rich but delicious. I can hardly wait to have a whole piece w/ a cold glass of milk tonight.

Just home from work and tucking into a multi grain roll with corned beef, freshly picked lettuce leaves and Branston pickle.

We just finished dinner. We had tilapia broiled in butter with lemon & dill, a salad of mixed greens, and my husband had some basmati rice with his. And there is some pineapple for later that's beginning to call my name.

Mmmm...some yummy things being had around here. I am nibbling on a piece of preserved lemon peel sent to me from Hawai'i by the very thoughtful RainDropSparkle. I do miss my island treats!

Warm homemade Fūl mudammas on a pita with salsa. I made this batch with chickpeas & red lentils, since I couldn't find fava beans in the store. It's delicious!

I love Khao Mok Kai! I am a lover of heavy spices though so I really prefer the one a Muslim restaurant near my university serves over than the usual (less spices) recipe designed for the 'Thai palate'. They also have Beef and Goat Biryani, which is amazing. I was a bit hesitant at first as I've never had any goat meat before, but I can say it's pretty much similar to lamb. I'll have to visit them tomorrow now!

Also keen to find out Amit's mom's recipe to see how they make it in India!

Southern Thai food in general is some of the best I've ever eaten:
Khao Yam, Pad Mee, Kaeng Tai Pla, Pad Ped Sataw Kung...oh, and Roti too! You can't forget the Roti.

I think it's time for lunch

Having my morning cup of Folgers coffee, which has gone cold. I was wondering whether I should give up coffee, but I think the caffeine withdrawl, even though it's only the one cup in the morning, would kill me.
