Mimi, offer never expires and actually grows larger with time!

Will tell my mother. She'll be delighted. And dont be surprised if you receive a vat of tomato chutney in the mail.

Those really are beautiful, Hedonist. Home grown tomatoes are the only tomatoes worth eating! And I’m not hinting for a jar of chuntey, lol! I can’t eat nightshades, but my eyes get happy at that sight.

I had sliced turkey and jarslberg cheese roll ups. Take a slice of turkey, roll it up, eat it. Take a slice of jarlsberg, repeat.

Roasted salted almonds and a glass of wine. As Jon Rodgers said on the SotD thread (FFB) it’s wine o’clock.

Cute one, Hedonist!

Green tea and a rice cake with almond butter. I’m pretty hungry this morning, though. I want something else.

p.s. I have to tell you all something. We went out last night, thinking we’d find someplace for a simple fish sandwich or fish ‘n chips. We went to one local place where we usually get good fish ‘n chips, and you can sit outside but it was too chilly last night. When we went inside the wait staff and hostesses kept addressing us as “you guys”, and the waitress told us she was “going to take care of us tonight” (I hate that!) and she called us “you guys”, too. Then we got stuck in this back room that made me feel claustrophobic that I never even knew existed, and it seemed like it was full of fat hillbillies (sorry, no offense to anyone who is a fat hillbilly) while front room we usually are seated in was half empty. Then the waitress was telling us about the specials of the day, something with a “cogg nack” sauce. I asked my husband…pleeeeze can we leave now before she brings us anything? So we left and went for sushi instead. I’m sorry if this is not relevant to what I’m eating right NOW, but I was so almost traumatized by that experience. Everyone who works in the restaurant we ditched, and that we used to go to fairly often, is now under 25 and hasn’t got a clue. Another one bites the dust.

We were entertaining for the Easter hols, so a huge lunch of a whole poached salmon, plain poached just with the lemon slices on top, new potatoes with fresh mint straight from the garden, curly kale steamed with butter. A lovely glass of chilled chablis. Then a lovely ginger biscuit based fruit flan, with strawberries and bilberries, a sugared lemon gel to glaze, covered in fresh double cream. There was brie too, but I was too full for cheese, then a lovely coffee.... yummy (and some flan left for breakfast tomorrow if my daughter doesn't get there first, which she will).

I like this idea...

Rank that right up there with the ditz waitress that corrected my pronunciation (in front of my guests no less) of "Bruschetta" by telling me that it's "broo-SHETTA" as opposed to "BROO-sketta"

I asked her if I could get some zoo-sheenee on it and a nice shee-antee to wash it down...

she'd never heard of either of them, go figure.

Have to laugh, no offense to anyone who is a fat hillbilly!
Also have to laugh at Hedonist's post about the Cat Race -
Hedonist, you're not only funny - I think you must have the best tomatoes I've heard of!

I'm eating boring crackers with almond butter, but roasting beef and doing "all the rest" for Easter supper tonight. No ham and scalloped potatoes this year ....
