FDA Warning for Zicam users......

Guard your precious sniffers boys and girls. Incase you haven't heard the FDA released info that the OTC drug Zicam can cause you to lose your sense of smell and taste "PERMANENTLY!"

I don't know about y'all, but I have to be able to smell my "smell goods". I usually don't even think about using a nose spray when I have a cold and now I know that I won't be anytime soon.

OMG!! Could imagine if we could no longer smell

Yikes! Thanks for the public service announcement Divatologist.

I was scared away from nasal mediciations years ago after developing hyposmia shortly after using Flonase. There is no concrete evidence this was the cause, but I do not have any other explaination as I did not have a nasal infection or some other trauma that commonly affects the sense of smell. Really sucks. Part of my enjoyment in fragrance is trying to isolate and identify specific notes, re-training my nose so to speak.

I was out yesterday and someone left that article on my chair at work. I hadn't even read it yet because I've never used Zicam. Now I know I won't use it ever.

Man I tell you it is all ways something. Loose your smell....I can't even imagine. You may as well call it a day.

I have used it maybe 2 times with no problem. It's hard to know if this is true or someone could just start a rumor & put this product out of business. I sure wouldn't use it again.

This only concerns the Zicam that is sprayed or swabbed directly in the nose. My GF actually lost her sense of smell for about 3 months using it.

Zicam also makes a throat spray and lozenges with no danger of loss of smell. They're only taking the nasal products off the market.

I SWEAR by Zicam! My colds never last more than 3 days when I use it.
