Fragrance for Dummies: How do you apply a EdT splash?

Without looking I picked up an Aramis EdT (made sure it wasn't an aftershave) and didn't notice it was a splash. Without a sprayer it looks like I'm bound for disaster by over applying and covering my hands in fragrance.

I'm guessing a cottonball would be useful but I'm open to suggestions.

Umm, how about getting a small atomizer and decanting to it?

Yeah I guess it's too early in the morning for me to think. That does sound like the best way to go. I'll probably just get a larger bottle if I can find one and put the entire contents in an atomizer.

Any sources for these? I'll poke around the Fragrance DIY section to see.

I've seen only praises here for the following site:

I've got mine from department stores and small cosmetic/perfume shops.

OR, you can do apply it old school style and pour a little in your hands and pat it on your neck!

That's what I'm trying to avoid. Once you get that stuff on your hands it lingers all day. I cook a lot and I've been grossed out before by other people's lingering fragrance getting into my food from their hands. I only spray my chest and the back of my neck that's covered by clothing to avoid rubbing it off on anything.

But I'll check out that site for atomizers, thanks zliang!

Be sure to get some pipettes (slender) and funnels while you are at it.

I hate using splash but when I do, I cover a finger at the tip and turn the bottle upside down, then back up. I do this for about 3 fingers real fast and dab them on one side of the neck. Repeat for other side. Then cover the bottle with my wrist exactly where I want and then turn the bottle to get the juice on me. Its real annoying, I don't use aftershaves anymore.
I was always curious how other people did it. Do they really pour out the juice on their hand? Wont it just trickle along side the bottle until it hits the bottom? And its real possible to get too much on your hands.

Reading the title of this thread, I couldn't help to think about the "dummies" books ("Windows for Dummies"). I could see a basenoter writing a "Fragrance for Dummies", don't you think? Anyway, sorry for getting off topic.

Perfumes the Guide by LT & TS are of course famous for their perfume reviews. However, the essays at the beginning at the book actually suffice as a very good "Frag for Dummies" guide.

See, those were my thoughts as well. Too messy and inefficient. An atomizer will help me out.

Every time I've ordered from Accessories for Fragrances, they have included at least one pipette and funnel.
