NO love for Basile Uomo?

Thread Starter
Recently, I tried a sample from ( Who else but the vintage monster) Dimitrios ( thanks again bro) and I was impressed to say the least.

I had never worn it in any fashion and never realized how good it smelled. Good projection and longevity as well. I never hear it mentioned here and am curious as to why?

I have no opinion on it because I have never seen it anywhere to try, nor have really heard much about it. Basile really isn't marketed much (if at all) in the US, as far as I know

Thanks Aromi
Been a while since I've hung out with Basile , I'll be wearing him tommorow.

I have not tested it yet, but if it's comparable to other scents by Weruska&Joel, I'd be keen on doing so - unfortunately, it does not seem to be in stock where I live

Never heard of it before. From one of the reviews

Sounds interesting to me. But

less so.

As I mentioned in another thread, the only one I have tried was Basile Style Uomo and was not very good IMO. However someone else said he tried two of the feminine ones in the line and thought they were very good.

I find it to be a very good scent if you like old-school powerhouse style. It has a very accurate basil leaf note, combined with the usual muscle of its generation. I apply it lightly and enjoy the herbal qualities.

thanks for bumping because i've seen this scent for rather cheap online.

Don't let others opinions prevent you from trying frags.

I was the guy who made the comment about the rotten salad and brackish pond. I bought this frag blind, thinking there was no way I wouldn't like it. But it just didn't do it for me at all. Yes, it's nice and strong (I like that), but that basil and oakmoss combination ruins it for me. Don't hesitate to try it out, especially if you like herbal powerhouse frags.

how does one tell the difference between vintage and modern version..is the vintage bottle dark while the modern lightish green?>
post #13 of 14
I have the original, picked up on Shamu1's assessment and after several wearings now consider it one of my favorites. Strong herbal stuff, definitely brings back the '80s. My understanding is that the older version is in a dark green bottle, the newer edition in a light green/clear(?) one. Shamu1's blog (http://pourmonsieurblog.blogspot.com...h/label/Basile) gives a great review of them both. Can be had on eBay cheaply, $25/100ml.

Im still lovin this one ...
it makes makes many other herbal greens frags seem so diluted .
