The Beach

Hi y'all basenoters!

I'm hitting the beach for the first time EVER today. Yeah, I know, a bit late but we gotta start somewhere right? I'm taking a bottle of Aqva there but this stuff doesn't really suit a bright sunny day so I've chosen to take another. Anyway what do you suggest I should take along with the Aqva?

Halston Unbound
Giorgio Beverly Hills Wings (top candidate at the moment)
Cool Water
Versace PH
Chrome Legend
Lacoste Essential
L'eau D'Issey

or any other suggestions? I can always pick up a small 30ml on the way. Thanks

Dennis

huge fan of CdG's Vettiveru or Citrico if you can find it cheap enough

Edit: Cool Water would work pretty well, too!

I'll take Cool water and Wings and leave the Aqva! YSL PH HC is a bit much haha, I'm quite scared of it. As for my blog, I have a lot of unposted stuff that I've been working on as I continue to asses some interesting scents. I'll be updating it soon!

Cheers

Out of the ones you listed I would go with Lacoste Essential.

You should look into L'eau Par Kenzo

For the first time to the beach huh? Awesome. Enjoy the day!

Great suggestions so just pick one!

Why even bother fragging up if youre going to the beach? Surely you'll be swimming as well right?

Versace PH if you put a gun to my head though.

I'm with Sokkou. Why bother? What you should do is take a jar of Noxema with you and slather a bit on every hour or so. Nothing smells like "summer day on a beach" like the drydown of Noxema.

Don't wear fragrances when you're on the ACTUAL BEACH. You might have a bad photosensitivity reaction to the sun. Just enjoy the smells all around you (sun, hot sand, salt water, sun tan lotion, etc) and spray your fragrances when you're off the beach. Enjoy!

The beach is a great way of doing accelerated testing of a scent's longevity under adverse environmental conditions. Most wash away after a few jumps into the water, so I usually stick to short lasting scents when going there.

But I remember the great surprise I had when my supposedly "short lasting" Gucci Rush wound up still being on me with some effect after spending 7 hours at the beach.

One can also experiment with different suntan lotions before going into the water, and see if some maintain the scent, or destroy it.

Kenzo Homme does - especially the seaweed part.

I second Cool Water. This scent works better when worn outdoors.
