I'm sampling Black Aoud today. It's definitely rosy, but surprisingly subtle and demure even after several sprays: I was expecting a sillage bomb! It's a nice and pleasant rose scent, so I might consider a bottle in the future.

(I also sampled Jil Sander Man Scent 79 on my hand.)

Apres L' Ondee (parfum) by Guerlain (from a sample - thanks Dimples)



For a few seconds, about 30 mins after applying this, the fragrance smells so beautiful I want to cry. Seriously. Ultimately the EdT is more wearable but the parfum plunges headlong into a bittersweet, emotional place inside my heart. Wow.

Today's SOTD was Comme des Garçons 2 Man.



This is really similar to the Le Labo Vetiver I wore a few days ago - vetiver caked with dirt and soil. Eventually, that CdG signature accord of smoky cedar comes through, after a hint of mushroom came and went. All in all, it does more than the Le Labo, but the specific mix of the Le Labo really suited my chemistry, so it's my winner of the two.

For my SOTE, I'm testing out Jo Malone French Lime Blossom.



At first, all I thought was "nice soap or an expensive candle, but too simple for a cologne," but then the indoles kicked in and everything got a lot more sultry and interesting. It's way too floral for me to be comfortable wearing in public, but a lot nicer than I thought in the first few minutes.
