What's Your Favorite Boss?

Let's hear from Hugo Boss fans. What do you like?

I own and like Boss Bottled and Hugo. I think that Boss Bottled is one of the sleekest, sexiest scents Ive tried. I love its woody vanilla drydown with just a touch of vetiver to give it some bite. Hugo smells a lot like Sander for Men to me with its minty opening, but whereas Sander for Men gets reedy in the drydown, Hugo gets sweeter.

What do you like and what else would you recommend, if anything?

Thanks.

Boss Number One

I once liked Hugo a lot, and actually worked my way into a second bottle of it, but to be honest I hardly wear it anymore. I also liked Boss Bottled, and still have that bottle, too. My son really likes Pure, but I'm only marginally attracted to that one. I do like Selection, and especially Baldessarini. If I were to buy a bottle, it would almost certainly be Baldessarini. And the new Element isn't really bad, but it doesn't thrill me. I wish it did, because the oxygen-tank bottle just rocks, IMO. It triggers scent memories from the lab, I guess.

I like Hugo Boss the best.....I also like the original Boss In Motion.....Elements and Elements Acqua are also very nice.....I only sampled the 1st of the Boss In Motion flankers.....Other than that Boss has not kept my attention.

I enjoyed Hugo Boss - Boss Bottled for quite a while. A decent vanilla/spice that was tolerable, and I remember getting the gift set with the big bottle for under $20 at Nordstrom Rack in Chicago.

I sold it on eBay and the buyer accused me of selling him fake juice (my 1st negative feedback)!

Hugo XY is a great warm-weather scent. I also quite like Selection, and I wouldn't mind picking up Energize or Pure if I saw them for about 20 bucks.

Hugo XY is, as mentioned, a great warm weather and casual scent. It's minty without smelling like gum or toothpaste, and does a pretty good job of smelling like 'crushed ice' which it lists as an accord (more like the smell of sticking your head in a freezer full of ice, imo).

It doesn't evolve much and stays pretty light and ethereal, but sometimes that is just what the weather or mood calls for.

Deep Red for women turns my crank

I like the richness of the original. I think I tried two others but they were not memorable.

Energise all the way
....the kind that doesn't hover or tell pointless stories, OOPS....wrong kinda boss....

Another vote for the original, Boss No. 1. I remember liking Boss No. 6 (or Bottled, if you prefer) and thinking it was a good cooler-weather scent. Baldessarini got boring to me after a while and all the others have come off as variations on Hugo.

But you know, perhaps I should sample Dark Blue.........

Someday.

I liked Bottled a lot more before R&G L' Homme Essential showed up doing the Boss thing in EDP strength. Same thing happened with Hugo, liked it fine for what it was until Hererra's Chic came along with more and much better cedar and about twice the longevity. That leaves the original In Motion and I'm still waiting for a chance to try the latest in motion in-carnation in the white ball. All casual around the house scents from an all around casual house.

The only Hugo Boss i have ever owned was Hugo Energise which i like really a lots, im looking to add more hugo boss as my future scents would be Dark Blue i heard this one smell great.

Great contribution to the thread there!

For me, it has to be Hugo Energize. One of my all time faves.

Boss Bottled, or XY. To me, XY is one of the only scents where the mint doesnt turn pasty or medicinal. It stays fresh and green, great for summer.
Boss Selections has to be my favorite followed by Baldessarini Concentrate and Soul.
i also respect Bottled, XY & Dark Blue. overall, they release some nice scents.

Tie between Boss Bottled and XY.
I didn't know so many people enjoyed XY.
The old Boss Elements, which I consider as the perfect all-rounder.
And then,Boss Sport comes close.Did I mention that I have four different bottles of Boss Sport?(well, technically that's three, since one of them is blatantly a fake...)

I keep seeing mentions of XY here and on other threads. I've never tried it, but I think I will.

Thanks for your replies.

For me it is Dark Blue, but I think I'll enjoy Boss Bottled more as it's an oriental (and done by Annick Menardo, whose fragrances are superb IMO...now where can I find Kenzo - Time for Peace for him!!!)

Boss Bottled, is in my top 10. to me is unique.
Bottled is the best for me.
Euphoria, XY and Elements are OK.

My favourite is Hugo Energise, it is wonderful. Fruity sweetness and woody notes. And lasts a very long while! I don't know why it doesn't get more love.

Hugo XY is also great. Great 'icy' herbal mint and basil. Love it!

I agree wholeheartedly.
It's on odd scent - if I spray it on my hand for testing I don't think that much of it.
But when I wear it, it's a totally different story.

I didn't care for XY and was my least favorite. I like the one in the cantene and Elements.

Hugo Deep Red. By far is the best BOSS frangrance. Although it's for women I wear it and I get so many compliments on how good I smell. It's the ambery creamy dry down that is to die for. Quite unisex if you ask me. All of my female friends say it smells masculine that's why they would never wear it. Yum

Boss Bottled fan here!

Boss Bottled is heaven! I know I'm replying about 3 years too late but oh well. It's never over powering aswell, and seeing I'm an ex-powerhouse fan, I usually apply about 10 sprays of Bottled to various areas (1 on each wrist, 2 over the chest area, and 6 to the neck) which makes using Bottled an expensive addiction, but it's an addiction nonetheless. My only criticism is that I can't always smell it on myself just by moving around like I've been able to with some of my other past fragrances like Calvin Klein's Obsession...which might explain my 10-spray habit.

Baldessarini used to be boss.
