Can you identify this 80s fragrance?

Help. A colleague is trying to identify a perfume her mother wore in the 80s. The bottle is a hexagonal shape with a tall rectangular lid. The bottle is clear and the lid is dark, burgundy or navy possibly. It is probably a less expensive range like Lentheric, Yardley etc. My colleague thinks the name sounds french and is probably 2 words but unfortunately thats all she can remember. She doesnt think it was Avon. The whole office is going mad trying to identify this fragrance, can anyone help?

I know a botlle that fits exactly your description, but it's a man's cologne: Lanvin for Men (1979), by Lanvin. I have it since 1987, and I can hardly see a woman wearing this, but who knows...

Estee Lauder's Knowing is what came first to my mind:

How does that bottle match up with what your colleague remembers? I'll try to keep thinking of more.

Sorry, I haven't described the bottle very well. When I said it was a hexagonal shape I meant looking at it face on, like a six sided 50pence piece.

Gee. The only perfume that comes to mind is "Colors" by Bennetton. Hope this helps.

Ombre Rose?

There are other fragrances in this line that have hex bottles also, but the original came out in 1981, was very popular, and not especially expensive. Also, it is a two-word French name! I can't believe I didn't think of it before!
