Can't stop listening to "Slow Show"

Some of Sinatra's most enjoyable years were in the 80's, in my opinion, and I've really enjoyed this release. "Moonlight in Vermont", "It Was a Very Good Year", "My Heart Stood Still" are my favorites from this one. A gem.

Gangsta

This one is dead sexy. It's going to get a heavy summer rotation from me. Love the sampling from the old Busta Rhythms & Lumidee track, Never Leave You.

Gangsta

Just downloaded, but Deadmau5 is playing first on that essential mix so I thought I'd let it. Not bad.. Must have been completely nuts live.

Edit: Ok this is some crazy s**t. I love it

Just wondering if we're hearing the exact same thing. Front porch chimes for 4 minutes?

Couldn't stand his EM. It's basically his own productions for 90 minutes, which you can stream for free off beatport and then his laptop does all the mixing. I can probably do more or less the same in my bedroom minus the Super Mario intro (that was actually kind of cool). You can hear the crowd booing him during his Pete Tong interview. Now, Luciano's set on the other hand was sex in the form of music.

Listening to three Resident Advisor podcasts tonight while doing some housework. 145 - DJ Koze, 152 - Ellen Allien, and 161 - Lawrence.

Did you click on Manana, that sounds like porch chimes for sure. Jovenes opens with a clanging metal noise, like chain links on a swingset.. Here's the full track.

For me the mix went downhill as well. The tracks went from crazy to boring very quickly, which left me thinking that whatever he was on lost its effect after 35 minutes (a half an hour that I would have loved to see live). I like the track starting 26:00, whatever that is (not really familiar with his productions).

Oops, my bad. I clicked on the wrong sample. That's why I double checked with you. You seem to be getting into the Kompakt stuff. I picked up their Pop Ambient 09 comp which isn't outstanding but something nice to listen to softly in the background while doing work. I'll be revisiting it in the winter, it sort of has that sound. Favorite track is It's Only Castles Burning by Marsen Jules.

I've been also listening to Ada's Adaptations Mixtape on the record label. Her remix of Never Want To See You Again by Alex Smoke is outstanding. The comp is basically a collection of all her pervious remixes, but this doesn't sound like her original remix for Alex Smoke.

Yes by Pet Shop Boys

Finally got this album, and I gave it several good listens last weekend on my trip to GA. I love some songs, and yet a few are really bad.

I'm curious about the ones you don't like. For me, I always play this album (and I play it a lot) without Beautiful People, Building A Wall, and Legacy. They just don't belong in the album, IMO.

The Way It Used To Be is for me a Pet Shop Boys classic and probably my favorite song on the album. Also, did you get the double disc? Because the instrumental versions of The Way It Used To Be and More Than A Dream on the second CD are beautiful. Even the songs I'm not fond of on the first CD, I enjoy the versions on CD2.

It's a calm evening after a busy day out, and I'm doing some work listening to Joris Voorn's Essential Mix.

James Lavelle (Various Artists) - Global Underground 37: Bangkok

Sounds more like Holden doing a GU mix than Lavelle. Lots of oldies but nice to see Animal Collective, School of Seven Bells, Nathan Fake, Jesse Somfay, Caribou, etc...

Last track on CD 2 is insane, some sort of wompy-spacy-sci-fi Holden like remix of Two Doors Down by Mystery Jet.

Yes, I agree, those songs are the ones Mostapha. Bad.

I love Pandemonium and the opening of All Over The World. I haven't heard the bonus cd tracks but they sound good.

It's Beginning To And Back Again by Wire

I picked up this cd last weekend, in a very cool record store in Athens, Georgia. I always wanted this album, and the low price made it easy to finally have in my collection. I forgot how much I like Newman's voice.

Horse Meat Disco compilation by Various Artists

Disco. Not space disco, not German techno disco, not samples of disco records over a house beat - rather straight up deep, underground disco with a capital D. This is how they do it in the UK, yeah mate. When I go to London, this is one club I will most definitely go to.

You can download a free mp3 on their microsite here.
