Three new Jardin Eau d'Abondance Parfumee's by Hermes

When Galamb_Borong and I were in the Hermes boutique a couple of days ago, we noticed three new bottles on the shelf that I've never seen before.

Hermes has formulated 'body sprays' for the three fragrances in the Jardin series: Un Jardin Sue Le Nil, Un Jardin Mediteranee and Un Jardin Apres La Mousson.

The bottles are 200 ml, in the same shape bottles as the Eau de cologne line, but with a frosted hue to all three of them. Price is $145.

I didn't smell them, but the SA's were marketing them as scented post-shower sprays, to be used as an ancillary product (like the moisturizers) in addition to the scent itself.

He said they came out with them about a month ago - although I didn't hear anything online about these. Anyone see / smell them?

I've haven't heard of these before. Interesting. Do you think these are needed?

I don't see the point, especially at that cost. Bottles of the original fragrances, which have decent, though unspectacular, strength and longevity can be found quite cheaply.

I love that fact that Hermes is copying the Axe concept.

They're listed on the website now...

Can't say any of the three scents appeal to me enough to want a gigantic bottle of the watered down juice...but it seems like luxury companies aren't happy unless they sell their products in GIGANTIC bottles (Chanel, etc.)

I questioned myself, whether this kind of ancillary product was necessary for Hermes to release.

The whole concept of 'body sprays' is very pharmacy / supermarket / Bath & Body Works IMO. Not that that's a bad thing - just kind of fragrance-for-those-who-don't-like-fragrance. Which to me, is the opposite of a Hermes customer.

I still want to smell them, to see how they carry the original scent. I'm wondering if the juice has an emolliency to it, like the Guerlain Vetiver Refreshing Body Splash I own?

The price on their site is $130. The SA told me it was $145 in the stores.

Oh dear...she tried to take you for a ride!

I'm thinking that maybe they're water based? Didn't one of the big companies just come out with a new water-technology?

They've been available in The Netherlands for a while now... have already seen them @ online discounters as well. Nothing to write home about imo, for reasons already mentioned in this topic.
