Does Les Nereides Imperail Opoponax really smell like Givenchy Pi?

I read a review that said this was basically the niche of Givenchy Pi?

I can see the similiarties, but I think the LN is a bit less vanilla.

No.

A BIG NO, more like Brut.

No--it smells like Brut only better.

Absolutely not! I love Imperial Opoponax and cannot stand Pi. (Pi doesn't have opoponax in it, I believe).

And the Les Néréides scent retails for less than Pi too! (Retail price, not discounts).

I think we would label Les Néréides as designer (I believe their primary product is jewelry, not fragrance), if it were not for the fact that its fragrance retailers seem to be niche outlets (e.g., Luckyscent).

Except for both being sweet, Imperial Opoponax does not smell like Pi.

A visit to a les Nereides shop may change the opinion above re the niche/designer status of the outfit. Compared with jewelers like Cartier and Boucheron, les Nereides are more like artisans (size-wise and net) next to the huge commercial conglomerates that are the others. Business wise, the only efficient way les Nereides can distribute its scents widely is through specialist distributors like Luckyscent. I appreciate that this opinion may further polarise the unresolved issue here in BaseNotes of what exactly should be niche or designer.

I agree with everyone, it doesn't smell the same.

I think LN is more elegant and feminine...

I certainly hope not. I'm seriously thinking of getting Les Nereides' Imperial Oppoponax for my lady and I had found Givenchy Pi to be less than impressive.

Anyway, don't believe everything you read. Sample it and decide for yourself.
