Fragrances that remind you of another...

Thread Starter
Have you ever smelled a fragrance that instantly reminded you of another fragrance? Maybe not identical, but has similar elements.

For example, I tested Hugo Boss Dark Blue today, and I swear it smells a lot like Lacoste Pour Homme (both of which I don't like very much).

It also happened when I had a sniff of Givenchy Pour Homme (red bottle). It has something in it that reminds me of that vile medicinal scent that is prominent in M7, only in Givenchy PH it is more muted, but enough for me to draw a comparison.

Anyone agree with this? And have your own to throw in?

This sounds a little like the multiple threads on similar smelling scents
I'll say it again anyways, most prominently, every time I spray on XS or Himalaya, I am instantly reminded of the other. Same goes for Aramis Havana and Montana (red box).

Salvador Dali's Black Sun smells like a drier & sweeter version of Armani Code.
And the drydown from Givenchy Gentleman is very much like that of Azzaro pour homme.
To my nose at least.

When I wear Hermes Rocobar it reminds me of Guerlain Heritage. Although not the same ingredients, somewhat similar, yet I still prefer Heritage.

I tried Creed Original Vetiver for the first time today. The first hour it smelled exactly like Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne (except that the Chanel won't last that long).

There is a certain similarity between Chanel pour Monsieur and Ungaro II.

Escada Pour homme -> Rive Gauche.
But maybe that's just me.
