Soft warm smelling scent

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could point me into the right direction for a particular scent.

The other day I walked past a guy and he was wearing the nicest smelling fragrance.

It smelt very very soft and warm, like going to the beach and the smell of sun-screen immediately hits you, yet the scent was sweet at the same time (pretty sure it isn't sun-screen he was wearing lol). I of course didn't stop him to ask coz he was gone before I could turn around.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what he may have been wearing? I feel like its my crusade to find out because it smelt SO nice, smooth and warm yet so masculine

I went to the stores today and tried Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme and that definitely isn't it (I'm still new to scents) and it definitely didn't smell like water.

Thanks!

Perhaps Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts, Creed Virgin Island Water, or Bond No. 9 Fire Island. Those are the three fragrances that come to mind immediately when you say suntan lotion.

Could have been Gendarme

Chanel pour Monsieur (original) might fit the bill if you can find it.

Warm and sweet.. Could it be Diesel - Green ?

Kiehl's Original Musk perhaps? Definitely warm and soft, like your favorite blanket. Also reminds me of some lotions (St Ives in particular).

Thanks for the suggestions and others as well.

After reading online about these three fragrances, I certainly would like to try them out.

I checked perfume-connection's website to see if they stock these brands and they dont seem to. Does anyone know of any stores in Sydney that might?

I'm particularly interested in the Tommy Bahama after reading some people's opinions on it, as well as the Creed.

I wonder if Myer stocks these?

Ah - Dribs - be alert here. You're talking to the world. Nix Myers. Get yourself along to DJs, and Mecca Cosmetica. I guarantee the shop assistant at Mecca will know what she's talking about - DJs you may have to look a bit harder for quality assistance.

DJs will carry the Bonds, the Chanel, probably the Kiehl (and lots more besides).

Mecca carry Serge Lutens; Frederic Malle; Etat Libre d'Orange; Commes des Garcons.

Creed as far as I know is only available at Harrolds in Melbourne, and Elizabeth K in Double Bay.

I doubt you'll find the Tommy Bahama for sniffing. Calling Aussie Basenoters in Sydney ...

First thing that came to mind was VIW too...

Soft, warm, sweet - could be Armani Code. That's not quite as 'suntan lotion' as some others recommended but it is one of the most popular scents around and it fits the profile close enough to be considered.

You could try Marc Jacobs for Men - figgy coconut suntan lotion
