Mine is Sagittarius and I'm a double metal dog.
I'm a Pisces/Rooster (I think). I think Pisces traits are more accurately "me."

It's weird, I am so sagitarrius and so dog like .re chinese horoscope ( OK, OK ,I hear the jokes about being a b***h .. I've heard them all ! )
*lol* Hey, I'm a Pisces but I have my fair share of b***h moments anyway. I'm definitely Pisces when it comes to the intuition, being in my own world, being emotionally over-reactive (much to my chagrin), love of water and hey, I'm drawn to saturated blue colours and they also look good on me. I actually share a birthday with my mom, and she's the martyr, give you my clothes off my back-type Pisces, which I'm not so much. Not as familiar with my rooster side though.

Leo with rising sign in between Virgo and Libra, as well as Water Pig.
Gemini, and like K_R, Water Pig
I remember as a kid I got quite into making detailed horoscopes. Forgotten it all now, unfortunately! All I remember is that my sun sign is Cancer and my moon is in Aries.

I did a bit of Googling and apparently I'm a fire rabbit ( perhaps blackened, drizzled in BBQ sauce, and with a side order of mash potatoes )

Galamb you're too nice to eat !

Apparently I am a double metal temple dog- a dog who sleeps in a temple all day long.
I have no idea what sun or moon ,planet etc, is rising where in my Sagittarius horoscope- I must go look it up ......
I'm a Capricorn (nearing transition into Aquarius) and also ram/goat in the Chinese system. I'm pretty close to the classic Cappy traits, don't know the Eastern system so well.

I'm a Pisces and was born in the year of the Dragon - rawr! They're pretty compatible descriptions, I'm very typical.
I'm a Taurus (Venus' sign) with ascendent in Aries. Moon and Venus are in Taurus (house 2, go figure), everything related to arts, perfume, good foods, good wine are supposed to be "my default".
In Chinese horoscope I'm an Earth Horse.
Double stubbornness, slowness, introvert (from Taurus and Horse) vs. impulsiveness to be "the first", extrovert, competitive, active (from Aries). Lovely contradictions. Mysterious for ( well...) almost everybody. Even for me.

House Sign: Gemini, Ascendant: Libra and Scorpio first house

LOL, mysticnot, I'm up really early!
I'm a Virgo, and I had to look up my Chinese sign. It's the Rooster. I'll have to research more to see if that fits me.
I am a classic Aries, moon in Cancer and Year Of The Horse
post #17 of 70
I'm a Leo and a Monkey.

I don't know anything about what that might mean.

But I did see a documentary (because it was in high-def and cool-looking) about how the ancients used all of that astrological information. It's amazing how much they used it and based their lives and society around it.

...And it is starting to sort of freak me out that the mayan calendar ends on dec 21, 2012.
I'm an Aquarius and the year of the Dog

I had never looked up my Chinese zodiac

but I've found that the year of

the Dog fits me quite well

So that kind of leaves us with 3 years to find our holy grail scent and try out all the ones we desire ?? Better get on it !

I am so typical Sagittarian ,it's embarrassing .

Yeah, and I'm gonna be mad if I've needlessly used this Feuille Verte ever-so-sparingly! (if the world ends)
I am an Aries with Scorpio rising and was born in the year of the Ram with Yin Fire element. Which describes me perfectly, no doubt about it.
I have Sun in Gemini, Moon in Taurus and Sagittarius rising. I was born in the year of the dragon, with wood element. I'm not sure it really describes me, but maybe my love of sensual experiences, good food and wine, pleasant surroundings, art, and lots of great smellies explains my moon and 3 other planets in Taurus (Taurus ruled by Venus).
I'm a Libra and a Wood Horse. Libra fits very well, Wood Horse not so sure.
Edit: Some of the Wood Horse descriptions do seem to fit!

I think we would probably end up setting things on fire if we hung out.

And you could help with the planning!! We'd just need an Aquarian to to put them out.

WOot! It would be fun slash dangerous
I am a Gemini and a metal ox, which are both quite accurate in describing me.
Gemini Sun, Scorpio Moon, Virgo Rising and 6 planets in Cancer. I feel the Cancerian energy more than the Gemini. Other than that, I'm a Wood Horse but I have no clue what that means.

I am still the only Sagittarian in the house !
Well not a bad thing I guess because it seems Saggies don't really see eye to eye - we head butt most of the time.
Capricorn / Wood Goat. I seem to conform to most of the Capricorn traits but the only one that I'm even remotely interested in and that I've read on a few occasions (so it must be TRUE) is that Capricons tend to look and act quite sprightly and young at heart when they get older. I particularly recall 'skate boarding with the grand-kids' being mentioned somewhere, altho I am NOT encouraging my 21 year old (Aquarian Dragon) son to rush things in that department. So, given the info I have at hand I'm assuming that after the couple of obligatory mid-life crises (please tell me they don't come threes ) I should be hitting my second childhood round about . . . now?
I'm a Taurus and according to onlinechineseastrology.com am:

"Fire plus Tiger equals a stick of dynamite, a human dynamo. In addition to the Tiger's usual passion and creativity, you have seemingly endless energy. You are among the greatest risk takers and do not hesitate to push the limits in almost anything you do. When you control your temper and penchant for melodrama, you are among the most colorful, fun people to be around. Depending on your level of common sense you can do big things or fail spectacularly."

Not too far off...I am usually surprised with how close the predictions can come.

Huh ! I looked up Sagittarian Dog- I am the problem dog it says ! apparently my nose is wet and healthy - tell me something I don't know !
I'm a Pisces - mostly true except I am ruled by reason in equal measure to emotions and I am really good with money; chinese astrology - I'm a Water Rat.
I'm a Virgo (which oddly enough accurately describes much of my personality), and apparently a Fire Rabbit.
I'm a scorpio myself and born year of the tiger. I basically fit the scorpio image to a tee.

A big shout out goes out to all the cancer's and pisces' - I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Sun sign is Libra, moon sign is Virgo, ascendant is Sagittarius. I knew my sun sign but had to look up the rest.

As to the Chinese horoscope, I'm an Earth Tiger.

I'd say that I have traits of the classic Libra and Tiger. How it translates to perfume... hmm... I have to give that a bit of thought.
Scorpio and horse....horse like travel and needs rom to roam, and we all know about scorpios...haha
post #40 of 70
Leo and Wood Tiger.

I fit both of them to a "T'. Too bad I don't like cats though... I'm two of the biggest cats out there...

I'm a Libra and a Rabbit. I always hated being a rabbit growing up because my grades in school were always people born late in 87/early in 88, and if you were born in 88, you were a dragon, which is infinitely cooler than a rabbit, especially when you're a young boy, lol.

Well, I am a girl and a dog ! And I am still the only Sagittarian in the house !

I am a Libran with a Scorpio rising sign. In the Chinese Zodiac, I am a Fire Dog. Interestingly enough, I have read that Libra is the equivalent of the Dog sign in Chinese astrology.

I think the Libra profile is pretty close to my personality: basically rational and optimistic, insisting on balance, and being thrown off when things are out of kilter. Also, I think I have some Scorpio traits as well, especailly that thing about sexual passion. (Ahem!) I read that in the Chinese Zodiac, Fire Dogs are idealistic and optimistic, but sometimes impractical and have a tendency to procrastinate. I don't think this is too far off as a description of me, either. I can see how some of that relates to the Libran stereotype.

The thing with horoscopes, of course, is that the descriptions of personalities and daily predictions are based on human universals and so vague and general that almost anyone can project them onto their own personality in various situations.

I wouldn't say I set much store by the Zodiac and horoscopes, but like most people, I'm taken in to the extent that I do read the newspaper horoscope column and spend a few moments wondering how that day's bullsh*t might possibly apply to my life.

The useful thing about the Zodiac concept or horoscopes is that they provide a jumping-off point for a kind of free-form introspection. In that way it's kind of Jungian, I think. Like the interpretation of dreams, it gives us insight into our own inner lives to examine what our fantasies, daydreams, and speculations might mean.

Personally, I find the idea of the Four Humors interesting as well. This was the basis for a lot of pre-scientific medicine. The idea was that the body produced four different humors: blood, bile, black bile, and phlegm. The body was healthy as long as these were in perfect balance, but individuals tended to be characterized by one of these more than the others. People who were dominated by the blood were called sanguine (from sanguis, the Latin word for blood), and were thought to be optimistic, rational, and idealisitc. Those dominated by phlegm (phlegmatics) were thought to be weak-willed and indecisive, easily led. Being dominated by bile (choleric, from the Greek word choler, meaning bile) were violent and angry. And those controlled by black bile (melancholic, from the Greek melanos, black, and choler, bile) were considered sad, depressive, and preoccupied by insecurities.

The characteristics of each humor were categorized by temperature and humidity, so that:
The Sanguine temperament was considered hot and wet;
the Choleric temperament was thought to be hot and dry;
the Melancholy temperament was conceived of as cold and dry; and
the Phlegmatic temperament was seen as cold and wet.
All pretty neat and squared away, eh? I have sometimes wondered if people's attitudes and tastes could be explained by these humors, which nowadays we might call personalities, or perhaps even world-views. Do you think that Sanguines might prefer florals and chypres (warm and dry)? Or that Phlegmatics might iike aquatic scents (cold and wet)? Maybe Melancholics might lean toward dark orientals and mossy-woody notes and fougères (cold and dry). And choleric types might crave spicy, warm scents (hot and dry).

I know it's not that simple, but it does sound kind of logical, doesn't it? What do your tastes in fragrance say about your temperament and personality? Of course, we are all a balance of all four temperaments, so we might have to rank our preferences to see which humors predominate, and which recede into he background; and as our moods swing, our daily whims and favorites might change as well.

I guess one rationalization is as good as another when things begin to get more speculative, but speculation can be fun as long as you don't take it too seriously. Ideas can be fun too, you see, for some of us at least.

Zodiac, horoscope, the humor, the Tarot, palmistry, tea leaf readings all of these can lead to embrace our unconscious, less rational side and put us in touch with parts of ourselves we might miss or undervalue. They could be useful pretexts for a few worthwhile trips to our own private underworlds.

I am a cancer and the year of the horse.

Jaime, I studied medieval and renaissance astrology, and the humors play a large part in those practices, also. For example, Saturn and Mercury are primary indicators for "black bile", a condition that can actually be quite good for scientists, doctors, and thinkers in general. That is, when the condition is balanced
post #47 of 70
Jaime, thank youfor the wonderful analysis and information. And Asha for the interesting addition.

Jaime, I am a fellow Libra/Sanguine, and I have to say that for proper balance and personal pleasure, I need fragrances from all the categories!

Born on the fifth of September I am a pure Virgo under the Chinese sign, I believe, of the Dragon, doomed to seek perfection in all things without the possibility of true success. I seek self value in the pursuit of perfection. It is true that, those who the gods love, they drive mad.
