Fragrancex - great Customer Service

Thread Starter
I have posted here before on my very positive experiences in shopping with Fragrancex (primarily relating to cheap prices and free shipping) and would like to share my recent experience, which raises them feven urther in my estimation.

I recently ordered a gift set of Carlo Corinto (original) from Fragrancex, and eagerly awaited its arrival. The opportunity to get free shipping is fantastic when you live the other side of the Atlantic, but is does mean that you have a two-week wait. When the product arrived, I was disappointed to find that it was not that which I ordered instead of the Carlo Corinto I had ordered, I received a gift set of Carlo by Carlo Corinto. This is a decent scent in its own right, but not one I would have purchased, and I now had a full set of EDT, aftershave balm, shower gel and deodorant stick.

I contacted Fragrancex to advise them of the mistake and they initially asked me to return the product to get a full refund. I pointed out that this would cost quite a bit, shipping from Ireland to the US with no free shipping from my end. They came back and asked that I forward them a photograph of the set I had received. When I sent this, they apologised for their error and gave me a full refund of what I had paid, allowing me to retain the Carlo set I had received in error.

I now have my money refunded and a giftset of Carlo ok, its not really my kind of fragrance, but I consider it to be excellent Customer Service on the part of Fragrancex to acknowledge their mistake in the first place and secondly to ensure that I, the customer, was looked after properly.

Who knows, I might get to like Carlo, but, in any event, well done Fragrancex, I will certainly be shopping there again and I feel many other online stores could benefit from this level of customer service.

Wow. That's just awesome! The goodwill generated is worth far more than the value of that set, that's for sure...

I had a similar experience with FragranceX. I ordered a Bulgari Black tester from them. I went with the tester because of the bad reputation of the normal bottle. It arrived here in New Zealand with a broken sprayer. I guess the absence of a cap left it with no protection during shipping. Once I sent them a photograph of the broken sprayer on the bottle they promptly refunded me the purchase price for that item. I was impressed with their service and will order from them again. Free shipping worldwide is a great deal.

They do have good service, but it takes a month for them to get to Perth! Im not a patient person, so I only use them if somethings really cheap.

Strange to read these experiences with FragranceX, as I had the same problem with them but they didn't refund me. I purchased CK One Summer 2006 and they sent me CK One Summer 2009. I sent an e-mail pointing their mistake, they asked me to return the bottle for them, but that would be impossible, due to some customs laws and etc.

So... they didn't refund me, they simply don't answer my e-mails and this was not my first time transaction with them...

They sent me the wrong Lalique once and I wrote to them a few times. They did not even care to respond.

Free Shiping with FragranceX doesn't exist anymore ...at least to France . And shipping prices are around 12 to 15 euros ...it starts to be not any more interesting
I think i will buy now on Cheapsmells or Xtrascents ....

I sent a mail to FragranceX , asking them why this change in their "free shipping policy" and they didn't answer
I regret it , all the more , i used to order between 2 and 4 perfumes each month

It seems that now they are only shipping free to Brazil - i imagine that they must receive tons of orders from here.
Fort me Fragrancex - great Customer Service, horrible shipping. It takes 2 months in general

Makassar, i suggest you fragrancenet. They always have discount codes that make shipping cost 2 dollars. And it arrives faster too. It doesn`t have the same stunning prices, but they have a great variety of fragrances, and you`ll always find some rarities and new fragrances if you go to the what`s new section.

FragranceX is getting awesome.
They fixed the 3 months shipping, the time is no more than 30 days now.

And the customer support is great.
I forgot to use the free shipping when i ordered body kuorus, i sent a mail and they refunded me the shipping costs!

Do you guys think that FragranceX is better than FragranceNet? I was looking at the Creeds on FragranceX and on some of them the 4oz is cheaper than the 2.5oz. WOuld you recommend ordering a Creed from FragranceX? Have you guys received authentic and fresh juice in the bottles that you have received from them?

I bought two bottles from Fragrancenet and these two were both off/old according to my nose. I gues i was just very unlucky but I rather do business with Fragrancex

Just don't get MI from there. I got one recently and the top notes are absent. It's real, but it's just not a good batch.

I've been waiting my order from fragrancex since November.I hope it will arrive some day but I'm not sure I buy from them anymore.I would rather pay 2 $ plus on other site knowing that my order arrives in one week.

I ordered three frags from them on November 18th (to AKl, NZ) and was hoping they'd be here by Christmas.

Nearly two months have passed, and I still have not received anything from them! I fear that it has been stolen by the postal service, so I asked for my money back, but they have refused half a dozen times.

Have you ever had any issues with customs intervention for fragrances? Or less than honest posties ripping you off?

As a result, I'm not really happy with FragranceX which is lame, because their pricing is aweseom, and free shipping is also great. I would buy off them time and again if only I had the confidence!

An aside, I was very surprised with shipping time. I ordered early Thursday morning (California PST), shipped out the same day (free USPS shipping) and received my order on Monday. 5 days to get from NY to CA, not bad! Considering I once paid $10 for 2 day (when it really takes THREE...day it ships + 1 day + day it arrives= 3 days total). Not worth it!

For FragranceX standard free shipping is fine, if it's by USPS (no tracking info though for free shipping). 5 days coast to coast, not bad. Better than UPS or Fedex ship times from my experience.

I still haven't received my order after eight months, and they give me the same nonsense about customs when I ask for a refund. Their customer service is appalling in my experience.

Well, in my opinion, Fragrancenet don`t have prices so agressive as Fragrancenet, but their shipping is better, you`ll find coupon codes at net, and their stock is easier to be watched regarding updates. I only had positive experiences with fragrancenet, something that i cannot say from fragrancex, which sometimes announce fragrances they don`t have (le feu d'issey was my case) and that don`t contact you when there`s a problem.

Regarding authenticity, i never had problems with any of the stores.

Holy Shiz, 8 months? And they still won't do anything about it?

I also noticed that when I wrote a scathing review under the "testimonials" section, that it was not put up on the site....theyre obvisouly picky about what they let through there, as probably half of them are horrible.
