Anyone know a good frag for this ? Something that smells blatantly like cigarette smoke ?
Ive tried Tobacco Vanilla from Tom Ford but thats too sweet, I want something stale and bitter just like a Dunhill cigarette..

Any suggestions ?

Try Dunhill Edition
At least partially, Drakkar Noir and Tabac Original always smelled like this to my nose.
Can I ask why you want that?

I know when I smoked cigarettes people always complained how horrible I smelled?

This is not a criticism, i am just curious why?

the interesting thing is i had no idea there were perfumes that even made you smell like that.

Vetiver by Guerlain
Tabac Blond by Caron
Velvet Rope by Apothia
Eau de Fier by Annick Goutal

The closest thing I've smelled to a cigarette vibe is ELDO's Jasmin et Cigarette. You have to deal with the strong jasmine opening before the cigarette hits, but when it happens, I got a total ashtray scent out of it. A lot of the other scents posted I just got a tobacco vibe from, but this gave me a total ashtray/stale smoke feel.

Denec, I've always found the smell comforting, and somewhat attractive..

il Profumo G11
cigarettes in a very Jean-Paul Belmondo, circa 1960, kinda way

I've always found that Ultraviolet for men has this very smokey, bitter vibe in its sillage. (The fragrance itself though, on the whole, is not smokey, but it's sillage has this weird vibe, like you smoked a cigarette an hour ago).

Other than that, Feuilles de Tabac by Miller Harris smells like a very smokey tabacco, almost like you just smoked a few cigarettes. That would be my biggest rec.

Yep.

Bulgari Pour Homme and Bulgari Pour Homme Extreme both give off that kind of vibe without using tobacco. Platinum Egoiste does too, come to think of it, although it's soapy fresh and metallic at the same time.
Indie Guy, you just reminded me that Silver Musk (which smells like it was based on Bulgari PH) also has a cigarette ash note, that somehow doesn't smell like tobacco at all.

Yep, I find it to be a bit cleaner then smokers smell which could be a plus.

Back to Black by Killian will do the trick

Trussardi Uomo

Eau de Lucky Strike or Parfum de Newport? ; )

You may have just ruined Bvlgari PH for me I never would have noticed it before, but now that you mention it, I think you're right in a sense, even though there is no tobacco in the formula. Something about the extremely dry pepper-tea aroma.

Also, I totally agree about Platinum Egoiste.

Hey flyinglotus, could you just smoke a Dunhill cigarette? Or do you not smoke and just like the smell?
I Profumo de Firenze's Tabacco is very pungent. I'd say the ELDO but if you don't really like jasmine you'll hate it.
Very Valentino, in the silver box. Bitter cigarette.

I was just about to recommend this one Although I would not say that it smells like a stale ciagrette, but a great recommendation for sure.

As far as the smell of a just-extinguished cig, I'll have to go with ELDO's Jasmin et Cigarette.

Yep and yep to Jasmin et Cigarette. Actually, most of the ELdO smell like smoke, when I sniffed them with a friend she said the same thing- smokey ashtray.

Molinard Habanita and Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque are ciggy-o-rama. I stopped wearing them- my kids would say "ew you smell like smoke" when I would hug them

Interesting -- I've always found FdT to be very pungent tobacco-ey in the opening which later mellows down a bit but I've never thought of it as the least bit smokey. I get that just-done-smoking vibe in Profumum Fumidus.
umm.. You could just smoke a cigarette.
I have yet to try Jasmin et Cigarette but it sounds like what you want. If you are on a strict budget, however, go with Mustang (green bottle that looks like Polo) by Dorall.
I tried a Nobile 1942 scent but I am afraid I am not sure which one it was. Either Pontevecchio or Acqua Nobile. It smelled like a faint cigarette smoke on clean clothes.
Tuscan Leather & Italian Cypress both smell like perfumes that have gone through a cloud of cigarette smoke. Anvers also smells like smoke on wool fabric.
Malle's Bois d'Orage
Another vote for Jasmin et Cigarette. It's absolutely not nice sweet pipe tobacco - it is stale cigarette.

That would be Pontevecchio. And, yes, I agree with your assesment.

Yes, another vote for Jasmine et Cigarette. (This scent is marketed as an androgynous scent for women, BTW.) I always thought this was what the Comte d'Orsay really smelled like...make that "jasmine and cigars," for that matter. Add to that the smell of virile sweat on a freshly laundered shirt in the days before antiperspirant and deodorant. Wow...that's very enticingly male...very swoon-worthy...

Has anyone tried Odori's Tobacco? Very costly....

Put all of your clothes in the bathroom, take the battery out of all of your smoke detectors (that would be an embarassing conversation with the FD), light a pack of Dunhill cigarettes and put them in the sink, put a towel under the door to "hotbox" your bathroom. Voila

Aramis - Havana
Some people get an ashtray smell from L'Anarchiste. I find this to be most pronounced when doing a concentrated spray from up close. With the prominent clove note though, it might smell more like you'd been smoking clove cigs.
I think Odori's Tobacco does not really smell like cigarette smoke... it has that tobacco leaves smell in it and I do smell some leather in there too!

Tom Ford Extreme has that smoky smell to it when it dries down (at least on me)
Acqua di Cuba - Santa maria Novella

Realistic tobacco, with a tinge of leather (the jacket or chair around which you smoked the cigarette )

Montana (red box)
You could buy a pack of cigs, light one up, and let the smoke get on you. You don't have to smoke it, just let it burn.
For me it is the drydown phase of Gucci Nobile
post #48 of 70
...then smoke one...unless you might concerned about your health
post #49 of 70

Yeah I am concerned about my health, Id prefer not to smoke.
I'll try to find a bottle of Jasmine et Cigarette to try out..

I have eau du navigateur, it is wonderful but not very smokey...

3xasif - you have me curious about Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque
post #50 of 70
I would say to check out Armani Diamonds. I get a sweet sort of cigarette smoke smell from it, it's nice.
Yep +1 for Havana as well - especially if you're a smoker.
+2 on Trussardi Uomo

i'd add Ava Luxe Film Noir to the list..
I came by a sample of Odori Tobacco--and it is lovely. Not actually the scent of *burning* coffin nails, but the rich, warm scent of tobacco leaves from a fine pipe or cigar. (Reminds me of some pleasant associations...male relatives and good times.)

As Odori Tobacco is rather costly, this must be sampled first--not a blind buy unless you're willing to gamble.

For the record, this has a marvelous middle note of jasmine... :bounce:

start smoking, obviously....

Yup, I have a sample of it, but I don't think it's quite what the OP is looking for. It's more of a fresh, damp tobacco scent. I didn't enjoy it, personally.

I would suggest Tobacco Mucho to the OP. Or if it doesn't have to be a tobacco scent, rather something smoky, I would suggest Tea For Two (which admittedly might be too clean, given the criteria).

Jo Malone black Vetyver Cafe has a cigarette smoke vibe but just that, don't expect to smell like cigarettes
post #58 of 70
I defintely get an ashtray vibe from Tom Ford Extreme.

Today, after an evening shower, I wore one spritz of Paco 1 Million. My dad asked if I just smoked a cigarette? I was surprised he got the tobacco vibe out of this one.

Well, I'd like to add Herrera for men to others' opinions.

One MIllion?? Tobacco notes? Now I am interested....

I ADORE the "modern" dandy theme here: clothes, wheels, booze, women, gambling...and, of course, perfume! (Too bad the skinny model in the ad does not look much like a prize fighter...several dandies of the 1830s had physiques of prize fighters...)
