Recently, I bought this limited edition Tom Ford Black Orchid pure parfum with Lalique Crystal bottle. The crystal bottles are numbered and there are just 5000 bottles released.
This purchase was more to add some aesthetic value to my collection as Black Orchid edp is a monster itself.

after a bit of a hiatus from purchasing I bought

Tom Ford - Grey Vetiver
By Kilian - Back to Black

@ Gupts: Nice score on that Black Orchid bottle! I prefer the parfum version of BO it smells smoother to my nose. Although it doesn't seem to last as long.

My first purchase of October was both perfume and a book.

I purchased a book called Scents of Time, mistakenly thinking that it had something to do with David Pybus, who is a perfumer-archeologist who has designed several perfumes inspired by antiquity. There was a thread about him and his company at the male forum a few weeks ago, although started in 2008.

This book is by Edwin Morris, about an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum called Scents of Time. It traces perfume's history from Babylone to recent times. It also includes 8 fragrances blended by perfumers of Givaudan Roure: Frankincense, Rose, Sandalwood-Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Spice, Eau de Cologne, Millefleurs, and Sportif.

I have not tried any of them yet, since I just opened the package and immediately thought that this was not what I thought I had purchased, but the book looks interesting and I can't wait to try the scents.

No doubt, and he sent me a 1oz bottle of Usher... Not too bad a day - especially free.

Caron Third Man.

Some new stock just arrived here. It's new, with atomiser, so doubtless it has been been reworked somehow from earlier versions, but a nice surprise anyway. I have been wanting to try this for some time and it's quite unique.

I know - Ive gone a bit OTT whilst vacationing, but who cant resist doing so when miles away from ones bank manager?
The Nasomatto is awesome and worth every hard-earned euro IMO!
2 Man has a phenomenal drydown, doesnt it?

Purchased last night at Epcot Center: Habit Rouge EdP, "Editiion Beau Cavalier", and Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa. The HR EdP alone was worth the trip.

I still haven't dabbed from my pure perfume bottle...The weather has become too hot to stop me from even dreaming about Black Orchid...I'd love to try this out when everything is perfect.....

Congrats on scoring a bottle of 'vintage' Yatagan.
This is definitely not current formulation as the current bottles come in 125ml size plus they have silver caps.

You know what, I actually ended up keeping the bottle (so if you want to know how it smells, just shoot me a PM). I've been trying to find a "sport" fragrance for the gym and this fragrance has interesting citrus notes (pineapple and a lemon-tangerine mix). All in all, it is perfect for what I'm looking for: a fragrance that is cheap, smells decently good, and doesn't last too long (no more than 4-5 hrs so I don't feel bad when I wash it off). It fit the niche. Plus, I can never find a good gym scent because I ended up liking my scents too much to risk having them damaged or stolen at the gym.

Tom Ford
White Suede
(2009)
Firmenich
Notes: Rose, Saffron, Thyme, Mate Tea, Olibanum, Lily-of-the-Valley, Amber, Suede, Sandalwood

I reviewed this back at the end of June and had some reservations about its being too modern for my taste, but I think I've changed my mind. It does have a modern slant to it, with the saffron and yerba mate notes, but the whole is not far from some tried-and-true styles with rose, incense, lily of the valley, suede, and ambery-woody notes. It is a bit of a skin scent, but the sillage is good in the beginning and lasts into the heart notes. It does have good longevity, even if it does evolve into more of a skin scent.

In any case, I popped for it and hope to give it a full wearing soon.

Mugler Miroir des Envies

Actually not my top fave from the line but I got a tremendous discount off a new bottle so I couldn't resist. If you haven't tried it, Mugler goes from the 'partial gourmand' vibe of most of his other scents and takes it to excessive, over-the-top gourmand with notes of caramel, vanilla and hazelnut...all in a very Mugleresque way. Not sure why this line is so under wraps and un-marketed, but all the Miroir fragrances deserve more attention from the perfume illuminati.

Wonderful fragrance - perfect timing, too, as to me it's a very Fall scent. Congrat's & enjoy.

Many thanks. Now that it's getting chilly in the northeast I'm delving more and more into the gourmands I haven't used since April or so.

Also received today: partial Chanel Antaeus Sport Cologne. I bought this on recommendation from an Antaeus-fanatic. To my nose it's not that different (but my buddy insists it is). I may just pass the bottle along to him....

YSL Body Kouros is my purchase of the month so far... came in today, and I am wearing it now. I think I may have to wait until it is even colder to really get the most out of this. It seems like a squarely winter fragrance rather than fall, but it's a big bottle that I got a good deal on, so I'm certainly going to be using it in the meantime.

Impulse purchase of Guerlain Samsara (parfum) - don't know if it's old or new, but I shall find out.
I pulled the trigger on quite a couple lately.

Today the last one arrived, in form of Guerlains Habit Rouge.
Other purchases over the last good fortnight were
M7
Diors Sauvage Fraicheur Cuir
and a few others.

Today, i went for a bunch of samples, including Ambre 114, Cuir pleine Fleur, 1913, Wazamba, Ambre Precieux...I hope not all of them hold up to the expactations -.-

I think I'm at the end of my designer list! Now i can finally somewhat justify FB niche purchases!
Yay???

The bottle I bought from him arrived broken. I was very disappointed. At least my room smells nice now! Hoping I can get another one ...

EDIT: A second bottle is shipping out tomorrow - hoping I'll have better luck with this one.
