My SotE is some vintage Most Precious cologne by Evyan. I remember wearing this in the early '80s (and also White Shoulders) when Evyan was still making lovely fragrances. Fragrance notes, according to The Perfumed Court, include tarragon, heliotrope, anise oil, lemon, lily of the valley, ylang ylang, jasmine, orange flower, gardenia, rose, tonka, coumarin.

Good night again, sweet smelling ones!

Hi everyone, and thanks for all the best wishes and cupcakes! I'm sure there's enough for everyone here...

I'm using my birthday as an excuse to haul out my little only-enough-for-one-wearing sample of the famously strange and quite collected Le Feu D'Issey by Issey Miyake.

Honestly, after a week of Afteliers, this really isn't that strange at all. It's actually quite similar to Aftelier's Cognac, but everything that Le Feu does (with the exception of the coconut water accord), Cognac did "bigger." I'm glad to have tried it, but I'm (thankfully) not completely in love.

Actually, I'm doing pretty much nothing tonight, with my big birthday plans happening tomorrow (it's easier to get everyone together on a Friday), so I may try something else fun...

Good night all, and thanks!

ps. Tomorrow is the birthday of Basenotes institution and all-around great guy JaimeB. It's a good week for birthdays!

I'm a little under the weather today, but spritzed on just a little of Love's True Bluish Light tonight.

Sending happy birthday wishes to rogalal

MOR Marshmallow EDP today. Haven't worn this one in months as I find it rather heavy for summer.
Talk about some lasting sillage! I still smell it and I applied it eight hours ago!

Late to the party...it was Ombre Rose today...I'm not one for pure roses, but the musky drydown makes this rather nice for me..........

Afternoon and evening scent: Amouage Gold. This always makes me smile. One tiny spritz is plenty.

Hey - thanks everybody!

For my evening in, I threw on a bit of a favorite, Golconda by J.A.R.

Spicy carnation with a side dish of clovey spice. With just a pinch of green and a little dash of bubble gum in the top. This makes me happy.

It's a beautiful night here, too. Falling asleep in Annick Goutal Eau de Lavande with rare wild lavender from Grasse, tonka bean and vanilla. Have a great weekend. everyone!
