My father has made furniture for over 40 years; he can knock-up a Queen Ann style chair by hand (given enough time)... He's worked all sorts of fine timbers mahogany included and I'd have to say that mahogany did not have a very distinct smell... well no more distinct than oak, or victorian ash etc... so color me confused

I have tried several of the Dememter frags and find them harsh & without nuance. They sound interesting but all (those I've tried) tend to be annoyingly linear. There is an Etro frag called Mahogany, I have a feeling that would be a better choice.

BTW, for a good cheap thrill, have you looked at Madini Oils?
