Woody-Floral Modern Chypre

Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin. Red Berries
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Neroli, White Musk
Base Notes: Patchouli, Cedar

This recalls a woody-fruity floral chypre, only without the oakmoss. The floral heart of jasmine and neroli is fairly typical of one type of floral chypre from the old days. The cedar with the patchouli heightens the woody aspect of the patchouli, and rounds out the base notes to a fuller, darker accord that is reminiscent of the old chypre tripod. Nice to wear casually or formally, with a moderate sillage in the beginning which decreases as the drydown proceeds. This is pretty easily felt as unisex, the woody base balancing the white florals, and the citrus top notes maintaining a neutral balance. Along with Gourmand Coquin, this is one ogf the better of the Elixirs Charnels series.
