Santa Maria Novella!!!

Which are your favourite perfumes from Santa Maria Novella?

Violetta is very nice; if I didn't already have so many violets perfumes, I would have bought it.
Garofano is a nice straightforward carnation. I like it well enough. but hubby doesn't care for it on me, so no purchase. It is more long-lasting than LV Garofano; I tested them both side by side when I was in NYC.

Peau d'Espagne is the only one I own. I have it in extract, gorgeous.

As I am no where near one of their stores and they don't seem to do samples to try.

Tuberose

I visited this wonderful "farmacia" in Florence a few summers ago and
found it to be a magical, peaceful oasis full of marvellous products.
They sell all kinds of skin and bath preparations, as well as the famous
eau de colognes.
My favourite scent is the Classica (Catherine of Medici's own perfume)- it is
sharply citrus with a spicy kick. I also own Melograno (the Pomegranate one) which is very strong and I have to be in the mood for!
Where do you live, Maya? Do you have a SMN outlet near to you?

You can order samples through Aedes, which carries SMN.

That would be AedesdeVenustas.com. If you live near NYC you can visit Takashimaya on 5th Avenue to smell them, as well as Aedes de Venuatas in Greenwich Village. Not sure who else carries the line.

But I am in Belfast, so they won't ship there.

I love and own Cuba, a honeyed tobacco.

Hello Maya.
I've tried some SMN, both in my city and also in London and Rome.
Acqua di Colonia. A classy and classic EDC, very citrusy and fresh, softened by florals.
Colonia Russa. A slightly heavier version of the above. Soapy, bit of civet lends longevity and an animalic note.
Cuba: tobacco and leather.
Potpourri -- amazing, powerful spicy STEW! Quite an experience. Not a little "pot-pourri" at all. Something that could fumigate rooms in a plague. But... oddly appealing.
Gold Musk: powdery, soapy
Caprifoglio: sweet, honeysuckle
Melograno, very soapy, pomegranate note
Ginestre: hay-like and somewhat sweet/grassy

cheers, ody

Bum!
And I just checked the Les Scenteurs website and they don't stock SMN.

I guess there's always The Perfumed Court - they have everything and they post anywhere.
