New: Impressions on Cuero by La Martina

I read out about it in Fragantica (http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/L...uero-6908.html). According to the blurb, it was launched in October 2009. So, having to go to the mall in order to buy a present and being there a store of La Martina, I visited its store and asked to try it.

Nothing to write home about, except for residents and expats that love Zino but regret it is unavailable down here - of course, they could get it from the USA at a convenient price since local prices for cosmetics are, generally, high. The only problem about this option would be the time shipments take to arrive.

I could not smell the leather, this meaning there aren't any such notes in a prominent way as they are found in such classics like Cabochard, Quorum, Z-14, Oscar or even Dior Homme. Cuero's accords diverge regarding these in a sweetness similar to that found in alcoholic spirits, specially liquours, cherry or cherry-scented pipe tobacco being the accord comming to mind. I could establish differences regarding Zino based in memories (it was my yesterday's SoTD) in that this one is more balanced, the accords look as if they interplayed in a rather continous way I could not find in La Martina. In these terms, the different accords showed up as if in the fashion of steps, giving it a character of un-smooothness I identify in ZIno.

I enjoyed it, still, and concluded it would be a good option for my wardrobe after buying more interesting scents, including Guerlain's Heritage which I know is in the same vein to that of Zino.

Sillage was fine, longevity average: 4 hours max on dry - acidic skin. Price: around USD 40 for a 3.3 Oz spray bottle.

Really close to Heritage Guerlain (the two fragrances share many notes as lavender, bergamot, cedar, patchouli, vanilla etc etc), but less spicy and more stressed on a darker sporty (fresh) patchouli with soapy/leathery accents. Averagely sharp and a bit sultry. Not bad.

Thanks for sharing, since I already like Hombre from the same fragrance house, I am looking forward into becoming acquainted with this scent.
