Antique is one of the better earthy patch imo.

Patchouli by Santa Maria Novella. Patchouli, earthy and dark. I also like Laura Tonatto's Re, animalistic and a bit more complex than the SMN.

Lorenzo Villoresi, Etro and Mazzolari Patchoulis are all earthy.

I found L'Artisan Patchouli Patch, in the earthy variety. Another two could be ELDO Nombril Immense and Mazzolari Patchouly.

Patchouli Homme by Parfums de Nicolai is the strongest patchouli scent I've sampled. It's so strong and earthy, I'm going to be putting it on my decant swap list.

The simple and inexpensive Aveda Patchouli oil.
Demeter Patchouli is fairly gentle and very inexpensive--it kind of reminds me of Patchouli Patch.
I really want to try Perfumerie Generale #8 --Integrant Patchouli.
Hop into any head shop--you're sure to find some earthy-rooty patchouli oil.

Go ahead and sample the Patchouli Antique, I think it's exactly what you're looking for. It has that freshly-scooped-dirt smell, as soon as you spray it on.

Ah, you're right. No longer listed at Luscious Cargo. Parfums Raffy still has it listed but I don't know anything about them. Sad if it is discontinued. A good frag that never got any attention, although it's many of the things people crave: strong, earthy, animalic, in the traditional French style. Foetidus is another fan.

Thanks bro. I had been wanting to try it along with other patch samples due to its reviews. I will check Parfums Raffy.

What about BeautyEncounter for Laura Tonatto? Last I checked, they carried it there.

I ordered Iss months ago from them since it was listed as "In stock", yet once again BE took the money, but did not have the item. I no longer order ANYTHING from them since that was the 2nd time they did that to me in a matter of months.

Wow, that's amazing. They're my go to online website, I've never had a problem except for I ordered one of those small sample vials with a larger bottle order and they forgot the sample. I called and they were very kind, and shipped it out that day free of charge. I'm honestly surprised that you had trouble with them, but hey, if I had a problem like that twice, I'd probably not shop there either.

Intrigant Patchouli isn't really that earthy or dark. It is a really well done patchouli with a good dose of amber with some animalic notes and spices that help soften the sweetness of the perfume a little. A really nice fragrance.

I have not smelled a lot of patchouli scents, though many of them have it in there. Of the ones that I would call very patchouli-dominant, I agree that the Santa Maria Novella version is very earthy.

The earthiest (in my opinion):

Patchouli essential oil, cheap and plentiful at the natural foods store
Profumum Patchouli
Farmacia SS Patchouly Indonesiano

SL Borneo 1834 and Chanel Coromandel both have a dirt smell during the development, but they are so refined that overall I don't get an "earthy" sense about them.
