Bed Time Fragrances.

Thread Starter
There are some fragrances that I consider bed time fragrances. I do not wear them during the day nor would I. At night these fragrances seems most appropriate and comforting. For me Eau de Cartier, Nuit de Noel, Royal Bain de Caron and Ambre Gris (which I do wear during the day). They help me to experience peaceful sleep and just make me feel positive. I wonder if any of you practice this sort of spiritual enhancement? Confess your secret fragrance practice. It might help someone else. After all we are all fragranceurs. Like the wolf and other animals smell is an integral part of our ancient heritage. Bon soire et bon nuit mes amis.

I really like putting on gentle florals at bed time, esp when I'm solo. My recent fave is AdP Profumo.
I like Mitsouko EdP and Black Aoud, sometimes Grey Flannel
post #4 of 47
I often spray on Pino Silvestre at night at home. The pine smell is extremely relaxing and not too strong.

I do put light florals on my bed when i go to sleep. KOUROS

I do put gourmand on my bed. MUSC RAVAGEUR.

I do put green scents on my bed. PARFUM D'HABIT

I put my body scent on my bed too.

Something with lavender like Body Shop White Musk for Men or L'Occitane Eau de L'Occitan.

You consider Kouros a "light" fragrance? Wow, I'd hate to know what you consider a powerhouse!

I like to wear Chanel No 5 extrait to bed and let the aldehydes screw with my brain waves.

The scent itself is not strong, its just the concentration. i know its edt but they might have put about ~50% absolute oil in it. Amen is strong. Black Aoud is strong. Kouros is not. Im talking about the feeling when you smell it.

Kouros is hardly a floral, and it's definitely not light. It's a spicy, animalic, and monstrous fougere for sure. Way too lively and energetic for me sleep with, but whatever works. It's a masterpiece either way.

_________

I wear primarily citruses and orientals before sleep.

That's what matters the most.

I personally use Bath & Body Works Lavender Vanilla pillow mist

I feel the same way but my wife disagrees. She thinks it smells "flowerly and floral". Such is the mystery that is Kouros.
I use live jazz to put me to sleep. It has a fresh feel to it that makes me feel like i'm on vacation...even tho there is work tommorow.
i've been wearing cuir de russie of late to determine whether or not i like it.

Glad to see this thread hasn't devolved into a "Kouros smells like pee pee" thread.

I'm wearing a drop of white aoud tonight.
My bed normally smells of Acqua di Gio. Love it that way.
Almost anything with lavender in it.
Yes, whenever I go to sleep, while I do not necessarily settle for a particular "bedtime frag", usually the frags that cheer me up or that I enjoy wearing during daytime, they usually do the trick, no matter how heavy and/or unsuitable for nighttime they are, meaning almost anything in my wardrobe that I would use on a regular basis anyway (it seems that, when it comes to frags, my sleep is quite low-maintenance and undiscriminating).
Aaah, Tesla! Ambre Gris is one of my bedtime frags too (and I have the Bain de Caron on order from FragranceX), along with Ambre Precieux, Habit Rouge EdT, Mitsouko EdT and L'Air du Desert Marocain (when I'm in one of my 'other-wordly' moods). I like the idea of Bath and Body Works Lavender Pillow Mist... L'Occitane has something similar, must check it out.
I wear just about anything to bed that I have not worn in a long time.
Just gives me a chance to experience the scents that have been left out to
due the unreasonable size of my wardrobe.
Usually a dab or two (no sprays!) of an ambery patch like Patchouli Leaves or Bois 1920 Real Patchouly.
My bed consistantly smells like the "creed" basenote, not that I wear creed every day but SWMBO says she can smell creed on the sheets and pillows and she likes it that way.

The only scent I ever really apply at night is a light EdC if I've had a shave or a shower before bed.
Lately I been trying a small amount Lavender from Crabtree & Evelyn every now and then... seems to relax me!
I tend to sleep pretty good no matter what.
Going to bed is a good time to sample frags that I haven't used in awhile. I'll do small sprays on both arms---each wrist and each antecubital (inner elbow) I bask in the circus before sleeping and smell them after waking up to investigate the total drydown.
I find the spicy warmth of Opium extrait perfect for a cold night. When I need some comforting, I use EL Amber Ylang Ylang.
I often wear Tea for Two at bedtime. Sometimes Endymion. I find these both relaxing.
I usually do one spray of the scent I'm going to wear the next day.
I don't limit my use of these for bed-time, but I generally tend to reach for Bath & Body Works Moonlight Path and Caron Nocturnes when I feel like I need some extra comfort. If I'm sick or not feeling well: Le Couvent de Minimes Lavender & Acacia edt.

Cheeciest guy here: Dana's Canoe or the local version, which happens to be more on the vein of a traditional eau de cologne, Grandal - take Canoe, lower the caramel like notes and replace it with citric accords, that is how it is like.

Options: if winter and quite cold, Avon's Black Suede. If very very hot and humid, R&G's Extra Vielle.

Sometimes, I use UGA's Relax. No, it does not me relax at all, but it is a beautiful light and fleeting scent.

Every night is an experiment.
Le 3ieme Homme on left wrist, Egoiste on the right.
Pour Monsieur on the left, Eau Sauvage on the right.
A*men on the left, Pure Coffee on the right.
Fahrenheit on the left, Fahrenheit 32 on the right...

This never stops. Every night I have a small battle between common topnotes, and basically wrestle with the basenotes in the morning before the shower. That way I can separate the men from the boys.

Since everyone has been so infatuated with A*men this week, it took a beating in the topnotes, and ended up beating Pure Coffee's a$$ by the morning

It is really impressive to hear so many take this night time habit seriously. When I started this thread I wondered how many real replies I would get. Very honest and thoughtful responses by all.

Not at all. It just makes me happy before I go to sleep.
I find Gris Clair extremely calming. So much so, that I can't wear it during a working day, because it makes me drowsy. Not sure if this happened before or after I started spraying it on my pillow, but it's a glorious way to drift off.
I usually just wear something that is either cheap, I have way too much of, have something similar that I like to wear more of, or something I just never have a reason to wear.

Uncanny! You just read my mind, almost word for word.
I never knew that there are fragrances designed for spraying on bed linen before sleep. Fantastic. I am going to check out these fragrances asap. Nicely done thread. Thanks.
Sometimes I use Chanell Allure Edition Blanch , Versace eau Fraich , BLV
post #45 of 47
D&G light blue
I think warm, bracing fragrances are perfect for bedtime...(can be floral o resinous)

I usaually go to sleep with Ambre de Cabochard, Nemo, Bond`s West Side and Zino. I spray the back of my knees....sounds crazy but I love to catch saves of beautiful fragrance every time I move!

Shaving Shop by Taylors of Old Bond Street. Ridiculously cheap but clean smelling and very soothing.
