Hi, i am new here and i went to macy's to spot out a fragrance and i found a fragrance that i like a lot. problem is, i dont know if it is the regular bvlgari or bvlgari extreme, which do you think smells better?

Hi Nipz!

I use both, and enjoy them equally. If the scent you tried opened with a very obvious fresh citrus/grapefruit note, chances are it is the Extreme. The original one just smells dominantly of darjeeling tea - Extreme without the citrus.Hope this helps.

well i do not know the smell of notes so well, but it is very soothing, and it is easy to catch the smell from a few feet away.

Out of these two, I like Bvlgari Extreme more.

Well if you cant remember, why not go to macys again? :P problem solved.
But i like them both. Its hard too say witch one is best, cause i cant find the big difference in them.

I like the original more. Can't stand the sour grapefruit note in the Extreme version.

Extreme better longetivity and silage ....

I used to love Bvlgari pour Homme, however I found it became boring after a while. It is very 'soothing' if that makes sense. One of the few fragrances I find extremly relaxing. Yet to try the Extreme version though, as soon as I get a chance will try! However, Bvlgari pour Homme lasts a whole day on me (albeit its very 'close', so I doubt anyone beyond a foot or two will smell it.)

I have the PH version and love it's tea like accord. It's a nice alternative to other "fresh" scents. I've yet to smell extreme.

I like the original better. It has deceptive longevity. I have gotten compliments on it 7+ hours.

the extreme does have more sillage, though.

BPH Extreme lacks the balance that lends an ethereal quality to the original and I too wouldn't make the mistake assuming the original as 'weak'. Original is the better of the 2. And btw, WELCOME to Basenotes!

I prefer Extrême - only because I find it more aromatic than the original version, which I tend to find a little bitter and dry.

Welcome.

I prefer the original. It's a very balanced and smooth formula that's easy to be around.

The Extreme version has a sharp, renegade grapefruit note that seems out of balance with the rest of the composition. On my skin, the grapefruit never becomes tame and is very annoying after awhile.

i'd recommend you sample Soir too.. it's a stunner.

Nipz, welcome to Base Notes.

If I were you, I would try them. This is because olfactive perceptions are very personal - you might like what others don't, and viceversa. So go to Macy's and give these two a try. Look for sillage (if the scent projects and can be smelled by others) and longevity.

You might try them on pieces*of papers (or blotters), a good idea if you don't want the fragrance be applied on your skin, but take in mind they don't make justice to the way the fragrance will smell on your skin. Remember to write down the name of the scents applied on each blotter.

Your choice would be the one that makes you feel more comfortable.
