Don't know, maybe. Make the decision for yourself. I can tell you, you will not go through more than 3 bottles of it anytime in the next few years, even if you use it everyday, which would be a very bad idea.

No, they really don't do promo codes, I ordered only one, already own a bottle though that I've used maybe 10% of in almost a year. I also have enough different samples/bottles that I don't wear things terribly often.

Hmm...do you think the scent is over-hyped? Or do you really like the smell? I know its subjective but still wanted to ask. Do you consider it one of the best scents out there for night time. Like is it unmatched.

Or let me put it this way: how much better do you like it than A*men?

2 bottles is plenty for personal use. It's a fall/winter fragrance so unless you live in a cold climate most of the year it would take you 2 years or more to use that much. Save your money for Pure Coffee. That one sells for almost $300 on Ebay.

I thought about what I said earlier and i'm going to eat my words. I'm going to stick to one bottle of Pure Malt and save the rest of my money for a purchase of Pure Coffee. That way I get the best of both worlds! If they continue to rerelease PM everynow and then i may conside getting a backup bottle.

I think this is probably a reasonable idea. I have no doubt Pure Malt will continue to be periodically released, so it's probably unnecessary to get too crazy right now.

I had several Pure Malt bottles from first batch. First I was like, THIS IS DA BEST, gotta supply myself for rest of my life so I bought 3 backup bottles. Later I sold 2 for buying price and now I have just 2 bottles and while I am exploring first niches I dont think I will finish even 1 EVER.

There are too many fragrances to explore and for most of them it would be enough to have just 10ml decant before you get bored of them.

Maybe you can sell those bottles with profit later but I guess that there are many basenoters now ordering backups for same reason.

There are a couple of things to consider Dudester.....How big is Your collection? Have You sampled Pure Malt? If You have a small collection of fragrances You can order one or two extra bottles.....While I have what I consider a larger collection.....I will purchase only one bottle!!! Just think about these things.....And if You get the extra bottles, be sure to store them in a cool dry place!!! If this is something that You will only use on weekends, You might want to purchase one or maybe two!!! Happy shopping!!!

I'm still trying to figure out the allure of this fragrance. I swapped it less than 2 days after I bought it when it was originally released. I think Pure Havane is the real gem of all the flankers and Pure Coffee is better than PM ... IMHO. Dare I say I even like the original A*Men more than this ...

I'm reaching the same conclusion: way too many scents to explore and I'm getting bored with scents I was sure I would love forever, so yeah a 10ml decant is probably as good as a full bottle for me right now. That's a double-edged sword, too: cheaper than buying full bottles, but I still end up spending a ton by telling myself that I would have spent $XXX.XX anyway....

Exactly. Wait til some of these folks realize how plasticky and flat the drydown of Pure Malt is... I love the topnotes and as a novelty, I rate it highly. Still, after an hour or two it falls very flat. A*men and Pure Havane are constructed with much better drydowns than Pure Malt-- which starts out awesome for the first few minutes and then after that, the legs fall off the table...

I hope you like it guys, but for a gourmand oriental which SHOULD get better as it dries down-- it doesn't.

I bought a bottle of PM the first couple of months it was released and then bought a bottle about 7 months ago from an online vendor and neither one has great sillage or longevity. If the whiskey and berry note in this lasted throughout the drydown I'd buy a bottle of that in a heartbeat.

As others have said, this is a cold weather winter fragrance and/or a night out scent. Pretty limited occasions for use. It's doubtful you'll finish a whole bottle any time soon, unless your entire wardrobe consists of Pure Malt (although judging from these Pure Malt threads, that is a distinct possibility).

Plus you're all stocking up on six+ bottles of Dior Homme Intense before it goes extinct, right?
