Zino Davidoff or Prada infusion d" homme?

Not too long until christmas and already my girlfriend has asked me what fragrance i would like-been having a long think about this and i have decided to choose either Zino davidoff or Prada infusion d"homme.I have just sampled the prada fragrance and its very very soapy-and seems to have fairly decent lasting power but has an underlying synthetic note in it.Not sampled the Zino davidoff fragrance but from what i gather its a real classic fragrance-what should i choose between these 2? Any thoughts from basenoters would be welcome.Many thanks.

I own both, and I know you can look around and Zino Davidoff for cheap... so why not both?

The "synthetic" note of Prada Infusion d'Homme is oft maligned, but I love it... and I love the iris note that's there. Still like TDH Bois d'Iris a tad bit better as far as true iris notes go; however I love Prada IdH something fierce.

Zino hands down, it does not get much love in here but I find it unique and charismatic.

Well imo zino is a try before you buy scent. It could be too strong for some people. And these two is a totally different scent too. I can't decide which too choose even though I have both of em. I get tired of IDH after awhile, so definitely wont buy it again.

Zino Davidoff, definitely. That note in Id'H is a head-searer for me. Plus Zino is a classic in itself.

Thanks for your response folks.It seems that zino has quite a few fans!! does the fragrance smell anything like carons third man? is zino a characteristic 80"s powerhouse?

Zino is fabulous... a lot like Heritage or Tiffany for Men IMO... a well blended, woody, sweet patchouli scent. Something virile and sexy about it that the Prada does not have going on at all. Personally I prefer the Prada Infusion d'Iris (pour femme) or Dior Homme (or Hermes Hiris) for a designer iris. The Prada Amber PH is a great scent too if you can try it... but it's not really ambery, more soapy.

Try and test the Zino first, some people (myself included) get a 'fecal' note from it thats not particularly pleasant. I still preferred the top and middle of Zino over Infusion, but that one note ruined it for me.

Two very different frags, in just about every way. Some of us prefer the "power frag" type, such as Zino, while others are seeking a more "modern" and subtle frag, such as the Prada one. In your case, I'd go with something that won't "rock the boat," such as the Prada, and in the meantime, get some samples, including Zino. Over time, you'll figure out which ones you prefer to wear most of the time.

Many thanks for all of your advice and words of fragrance wisdom.It seems that Zino has quite a few friends on basenotes!! I think on this occasion prada infusion d"homme is just not for me at this time(maybe in the future it will be)-i am not dissing the fragrance completely as i do think it smells unique and has quite a quirky smell about it.So yes i shall give my decision to my girlfriend that i would like a bottle of Zino for christmas!! zino is nasty stuff and reeks of the 1980s!! prada infusion is the one you should go for!! dont get ZINO you will regret it!!
