The bottle in the picture looks different from the tradition GIT grey bottle.

I thought the Millesime was parfum strenght?

That's the 75ml bottle. It's always looked that way. The larger 120ml (which is what they're advertising) is black-"ish". I don't know if it's gone the same way as MI and adopted the new clear look. Either way, the 120ml bottles have square shoulders. The 75ml and 30ml have the rounded shoulders as per the pic in the link. I'm sure it's legit, they've just used the wrong bottle size.

Word of advice...

NEVER buy GIT anywhere but a department store... I know your wallet will be screaming, but I wouldn't trust any other outlet... Too many counterfeits for this one, and they're starting to get really good...

I wouldn't buy from Amazon but FragranceX seems legit...

the rule i always use online is only buy the 2.5oz bottles ...they only fake the 4oz bottles....theres quite a few good people i buy from on ebay like $80 for 2.5oz and every creed made pretty much.
these people on ebay i buy creeds from always real 2.5oz testers of every kind for $80

How are you sure its legit?
i bought at least 8 different creeds from them....they are legit.

the GIT he has is in a clear bottle 2.5oz.

i would never buy a 4oz except maybe at neimens...even then i am affraid someone else returned a fake to them and took the real one....the 2.5oz as far as i know have not been counterfeited yet
post #15 of 31
For a 2.5 oz tester that price is believable. I don't know who the seller is, but there are unlikely any fake 2.5 oz bottles that are clear because a clear bottle puts the fake juice up for show. I believe fragrancenet has a similar price. For a 4 oz I would buy from Neiman Marcus or Costco (you'd better believe it that Costco sells Creed now as well as coffins and caskets or anything else you can think of).

Alas Costco doesn't sell GIT, only about 5 other boring Creeds, would only buy SMW from them.

Bummer, I thought they used to. Looks like they only have Vetiver, Royal Water, Erolfa, and Tabarome.

I was going to start a thread but I didn't see the correct place to start it, but this is along the same lines and maybe someone knows. Is there a list or legit Ebayers somewhere on Basenotes?
I was hoping there were legit Ebayers listed that I could look at or if not ask about a specific seller.
Good luck with that one--you'll need it!

lol, I'm taking that one of two ways.
1. There is no Basenotes database or it's not a priority to talk about it.
2. Too many Ebay sellers who are fraudulent.

Why the hell would they sell Creed and not GIT?

That's a good question. The manner in which Creed seems to grant retailers ability to sell their product is downright confounding.

Why they wouldn't grant them the right to sell THE best selling niche cologne I have no idea.
Millesime = edp strength - as per Creed site.

I buy my Creeds locally in stores/shops. I've also bought a handful of 75ml (2.5oz)and 120ml (4oz) testers from a well-known and highly reputable local discounter from as low as 62US. I do think I recall some other members managing to get theirs for even cheaper... Renato was it?
I'm pretty sure fragrancenet Creeds are legitimate too.
fragrancenet and scentements are both good sites....i have bought creeds from both of them before.

those 2 places and that ebay seller i listed are the cheapest ways i know to get creeds that are legit.

i am affraid to even buy 4oz creeds in the store....i think to myself what if someone bought a fake on ebay then bought a real one at neimens or somewhere ...then returned the fake one to the store and kept the real one....they put it back on the shelf and i end up with it!!!! i just stick to the 2.5oz.
I buy from fragrancenet and allshewants my Creeds.
Beautyencounter is my source for Creeds. They have the lowest prices on VIW and it gets really low with their $25 off $100 deals they do every six months or so.

They have a 2.5oz GIT tester for $90.

Please be careful. I recently gave in to temptation and ordered some Green Valley off a guy from Singapore on Ebay. It wasn't genuine, it was like someone had topped it up with Erolfa. I sent the goods back but, needless to say, no refund. A costly lesson to learn, serves me right.

The likes of Fragrancenet should be ok, but the stock is probably older than what you'd get from a reputable dealer.

Check the "City Shopping Guide" forum here on Basenotes. There is a thread containing list of good online sellers. That thread was initiated by Dpak.

Also, there is a thread in that same forum where you can talk about legit eBay sellers.

It's here: http://community.basenotes.net/showthread.php?t=207117, and in my somewhat limited experience, very accurate.
