Any thoughts on Bruno Banani?

post #1 of 11

I just read a thread in a non fragrance related (Swedish) forum - "lots" of people there are hyping Pure Man by Bruno Banani. I did a google search and didn't find much info. Seems to be a german brand. I remember smelling one of their other fragrances and I didn't like it at all - very generic and cheap smelling. Anyone here have any thoughts on Bruno Banani in general and Pure Man specifically?

The notes sounds interesting, but if the ingredients are cheap and badly mixed it won't help...

Top Notes
* Bergamot, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Cardamom.

Middle Notes
* Cyclamen, Jasmine, Cedarwood.

Base Notes
* Sandalwood, Vetiver, Amber, Musk.

I thought so too, but have you tried it?

Not lately... I'm going shopping today and will make an effort to try it.

it´s so cheap crap! you put it on and after 2 minutes it is gone - it is a discounter mass store
fragrance with very short longlivity and good to get the most of synthetic smell.

I just found it in my local departmentstore and sampled it - it was vile! I have not felt something so synthetic in a long time, it actually made my sinuses ache. Many no name-deodorants smells a lot better than this.

Not just too casual, but also too vapid for my taste.

Bruno Banani Pure Man might be a step up from Axe?

It's very generic, synthetic, fresh, kind of aquatic and simply falls apart within a couple of hours. Feels like a failed clone of Allure Homme Sport, with much less longevity and cheaper ingredients.

I have Bruno Banani Magic Man. Doesn't smell like a cheapo, lasts long, and has a moderate sillage. That is the only frag from that designer that I have tried. It is really not that bad, at least this particular frag.

Does this smell like bananas by any chance?

in fact, the scent kind of emulates this banana-ish aura...
