anyone knows scents that is woody, dry, mineralic from it beginning? no vanilla, amber and musk in it. i like terre d'hermes a lot but i specially adore those middle/base notes that appear after 4-6 hours from apply. I mean those dry earth in the wood during drought.
The best way to check out what i mean is to sniff bottleneck of Terre d'Hermes afther 1-2 day of last use

Have you tried Red Vetyver by Montale? This may be what you're looking for.

Agreed. Red Vetyver goes straight to the heart and base of Terre d'Hermes, with perhaps a drop of aoud added. Good stuff.

Although Red Vetyver is similar to (and IMO better than) Terre d'Hermes, it doesn't have the mineralic dryness that Terre d'Hermes has. I can't see why you guys are recommending it for what the poster is asking for (dry mineralic woods).

Red Vetyver is more rich than TdH but I would still characterize it as dry, mineralic and woody. Perhaps a bit less dry and mineralic in comparison but hardly enough to be disqualified as a suggestion. Maybe the bitter orange/grapefruit of TdH, absent from RV, aids the perception of dryness?

Welcome to BaseNotes, da_markos. Perhaps you may want to sample Terre d'Hermes Parfum. Takes you straight to those notes, IMO.

Prada Infusion D'Homme has all of these notes in common also, along with frankincense. I'm a big fan of Terre D'Hermes and this one is like a "white" version of it.

solo loweve

have tried many vanilla based perfumes and they approximately share the same type of sweet smell, Solo Loewe however differs from all of them.
but sorry for misunderstanding I understood you want vanilla in it

I have not experienced the mineral, flinty, earthy accord in TdH anywhere else. The TdH drydown is this mineral accord plus iso-e super. You might be happy just buying iso-e super and diluting it to 10% with perfumers alcohol or everclear. It's very cheap, and the same thing as Molecule 01. You can buy it from Perfumer's Apprentice.

Encre Noire. Vetiver and Iso E Super. Smells similar the T d'H in the drydown.
Anything with iso E Super, really.
Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisee, David Beckham Homme
post #27 of 29
Maybe Comme des Garçons 2 Man?
To me the drydown has a similar vibe as Terre d'Hermes.
It is probably very heavy on the iso E super.
Give it a try if you have got the chance.

Do you know where I can get perfumer's alcohol online?
