i got a sample of red sequoia and to me it smells almost exactly the same as costes(red)..however i find the cdg more appealing in that it does not seem to have a powdery note like costes which turned me off.

Im now curious to try more of the red line

I have Seqouia and a decant of Costes and I don't think they smell alike at all. To me what defines Seqouia is the HUGE apple-cider note and cedar. It's also quite medicinal. Costes from what I can recall is much warmer, and paler. It also has a lot of spices including cardamom and incense.

i am definitely picking up the apple cider note...and i dig it...i have not had costes in a while, but that was the first thing that came to mind with this frag, but i agree, now that its drying down they are taking different roads

I've never tested Costes, but have a sample of Sequoia and was underwhelmed by it. I get a strong similarity to French Lover, I think it's the wood note.
