Happy memories indeed. Darrell is sorely missed. Glad I got to see Pantera a few times in their heyday. Great band - thanks for the clip Jen.

Some damn good stuff here, Dimi. Particularly liked the L7 clip. "Fast and Frightening" was my favourite track but loved all their material. I actually have the somewhat dubious claim to fame of being in the audience on the 90s UK show The Word when Donita removed her jeans and underwear towards the end of their live rendition of "Pretend We're Dead" and treated everyone to a full frontal performance. Caused a bit of controversy at the time if I remember correctly as the show was live- they had some attitude for sure.
I have also recently been playing some of my older stuff (Sisters of Mercy at the moment) and reckon L7 could be next on the list now. Thanks for the clips.

Thats fab Ron! I was also in the audience at an L7 show in Perth in 1993 when Dee Plaka mooned the crowd at the front of the stage as the band took their bow. They just don't rock like that anymore do they? *sigh* LOL.
I used to love Sisters of Mercy and Ministry too... good times. I think I will have to track down some of the old CDs I owned in some local 2nd hand stores.

Incidentally - love Ministry too, particularly Psalm 69 - every track a killer.

Do The Donnas count as metal ?

ACDC on The Midnight Special 1978

I can't believe Angus Young still dresses that way. He should put on a cardigan and a pair of beige Dockers these days.

I'm a big black metal fan but.. I think it's a bit much compared to what's posted in here haha

Lets hear it then!
I love to explore all hard/metal (and fusion) genres... here's a few fusion tracks for ya from the early 90s...

PWEI (Pop Will Eat Itself)... They had some pretty rockin' sounds that also bridged the alternative/industrial/metal divide...

And this now disbanded Aussie Indie/Surf/Metal band DEF FX, with white-witch Fiona Horne on vocals:

Okey doke! Here's a few favorites:

This is just your run of the mill Black Metal (maybe a bit on the faster side of things):

Nargaroth's ode to the old style of Raw Black Metal:

Melodic Black Metal:

Example of Depressive Black Metal (they also have influences of Post Punk and Shoegaze):

Probably the most "extreme" Black Metal in the regards of sound (very dark and the vocals sounds like they came from the possession scene in The Exorcism of Emily Rose):
