I love this scent, but having a bit of a problem discerning what weather conditions give most of it.

All you that also own, or have tried it, what is your opinion? Develops quite nice during cold days...but it doesn't seem very cloying not to be worn during hot days.

What are your opinions, dear gents?

IMO - All Year

Well it was only launched in the Northern fall, so i can only attest to its suitability in cold weather. Maybe we can ask some members in the Sthn Hemisphere how they find in in the heat?

I agree. As the back of the box says:

"Its rare raw materials diffuse their scent in the presence of heat, making it smoldering, intense and more mysterious than ever."

It doesn't seem to have made it down here yet. At least I can't find it anyway. Same with Varvatos Artisan. The two frags I've been waiting for!

I checked the back of the box for the first time now, it is true what you've written. Obviously this needs to be tested. Scents in general do develop differently depending on weather conditions.

Absolute has not arrived to this part of the world yet. I have been checking the Dior counters constantly since late last year and still no sign. One SA I spoke to knew about Absolute but told me it will take some time for it to make it's way here.

what are winters like in Melbourne? In Zagreb it can get to minus 20 Celsius, on average it is minus 5. Not all winters are the same in every part of the world

It is too thick for summer, but so great for fall/winter

It is a bit thick, but did not strike me as overly cloying. I noticed many ppl mentioning Kouros and Le Male during summer...of course with careful application...

Fall, winter, and even spring. But not in summer...

Wow, somebody bumped on this 3 years old thread After all this time, I can say it's a whole year fragrance and it does make wonders during summer evenings!

I adore FA and believe that it is underrated. I can be used all year round, in varying doses. It is not as watered down as the reformulated Fahrenheit is. FA lasts and has just the right touch of oud to make it different than the original. I recommend this one.

I smelled Fahrenheit Absolute first in the summer and hated it. LOATHED it, in fact. I put it away. FAR away.

I smelled FA again in the winter and loved it. Cold weather really does wonders for this one.

Definitely feels more like a cool weather scent and seems to work best for me in fall/winter. But then again, there are no fragrance rules! Try it year round, it's a great scent.

All year!

Luca Turin reminds us not to fall into the trap of adhering to redundant and baseless conventions of seasonal wear. A great scent is a great scent all year round! If you're worried about monster projection in the heat, just spray lightly.

Fahrenheit Absolute is wonderful.

Preferably during fall and winter, but can be pulled off with almost the same ease during the whole year
