Best Flankers Ever

I'm quite intrigued by flankers. Sometimes they outdo the originals but oftentimes they just mess it up. But one thing's for sure, they're quite distinct. Anyhow, I'd like to find out which ones were actually better than the original. I own a Cool Water Frozen and I must say I thoroughly enjoy it more than Cool Water.

Versace Eau Fraiche
Platinum Egoiste
Allure Homme Sport
Gucci Homme II

I'm loving A*Men Pure Malt. It's a lot more wearable and versatile than the original for me. Also enjoy Allure Edition Blanche as well.

EDIT: How could I forget Eau Fraiche!? Definitely up there with my favourites, and probably one of my most used Versace frags.

I think Givenchy has done a great job with some of their flankers. Incense Ultramarine, Xeryus Rouge, Pi Fraiche, Very Irresistible Fresh Attitude, and Play Intense are better than the originals in my opinion.

Opium pour homme Eau d'Orient > Opium pour homme

These two surpass their parents, imo:

Kouros Cologne Sport > Kouros

L'Essence d' Declaration > Declaration

I know there are some but I'll have to do some thinking to get which.

Buzzlepuff's fine post reminds me that I've always liked Kouros Fraicheur very much, almost as much as the original, and I think it would be firmly planted on my list of best flankers ever.

Platinum egoiste is a good one imo.
As is Pure malt, able to mellow and unsweeten the monster that is A*Men.
But my choice is:
Concentre D'Orange Verte.
did such a great job extending the longevity without killing the theme.
Now give us Fleur D'Orange Verte with some neroli under all that great citrus.

Youth Dew Amber Nude. It only took Estée Lauder 53 years, but it was worth the wait.

Man, the Allure lineup had some real solid flankers. I like every one of them, especially Blanche Edition. Other flankers that I've personally worn that I enjoyed were Egoiste Platinum (hey, Notorious BIG mentioned it in one of his songs), Man Eau Fraiche (picking up in popularity), M7 Fresh, Fahrenheit 32, B*Men, and Euphoria Intense (I normally hate CK frags).

I think Declaration is the best Flanker!

Baldessarini Ambre
Solo Loewe Intense
Azzaro Bright Visit
even some the Emporio Armani male frags have some great non-generic class and style to them
CK Obsession Night
1881 Amber by Cerruti

La Cologne Fleur du Male
Fahrenheit Absolute

I personally like Eau Sauvage Fraicheur Cuir. I am wearing it right now

Ungaro Apparition Homme Intense and Guerlain Homme Intense. Unlike most people, I really like the originals of both, but the flankers are quite jaw-dropping, especially the Ungaro. The Aramis Classic Gold and Boss Bottled Platinum (or whatever it's called - in the bright silver bottle) are also good, but I don't think they're different enough from their originals to be considered, or worthy enough of their price tag.

Shalimar Eau Legere (Light) by Guerlain
Flower (Winter Flowers) by Kenzo
Declaration Eau de Genereuse by Cartier
24 Faubourg Eau Delicate by Hermes
Polo Modern Reserve by Ralph Lauren
Dior Homme Cologne by Christian Dior

Balenciaga Ho Hang Club > Balenciaga Ho Hang

Havana Reserva > Havana
Opium Eau d'Orient PH > Opium PH

Most definitely!

Allow me to express perhaps an unpopular opinion. For me, it's DIOR HOMME SPORT. The famous original DIOR HOMME is just too much for me.
The A*Men flankers, Dior Homme flankers, Allure flankers, Bright Visit, and Apparition Homme Intense are very well done.

Fendi Theorema Esprit d'ete.
I'm still looking for Eau Sauvage Fraicheur Cuir.

Guerlain Vetiver Sport is is my favorite flanker but NOT better than the original--nothing is!

Body Kouros
Pure Malt
Are my fav's
B*Men is the greatest flanker in my opinion. It's even better than the original A*Men.

Close second: Kouros Fraicheur. It's the only Kouros flanker that actually smells like Kouros. It captures the feel and attitude of Kouros, but just a little lighter and brighter. Great stuff, if you can still find it.

There are so many flankers that I haven't sampled, but I have to give props for some mentioned: Versace Man Eau Fraiche, Declaration Essence, and M7 Fresh (the original M7 is just too potent for me). I will have to admit that I don't even see a remote similiarity between Versace Man and Eau Fraiche but I still like it.
in my opinion
Thierry Mugler A*Men Pure Malt > Thierry Mugler A*Men
Calvin Klein Euphoria Intense > Calvin Klein Euphoria
Versace Man Eau Fraiche > Versace Man
M7 Fresh > M7

+1 Shalimar Eau Legere/light.

Summer editions of CK Eternity and CK one are actually quite nice.
+1 to Allure Homme Sport - a flanker that far surpasses the original Allure Homme.
L'Essence de Declaration - Cartier
The Boucheron pour Homme Fraicheurs (2004, 2006 and 2006 Legere)
Vetiver Intense - Guerlain (despite all the stick in the Reviews board)
Cerruti 1881 Intense and Amber
Guerlain Homme Intense
Kouros Eau de Sport
A-Men Pure Malt
Habit Rouge EDT Legere and EDP

...to mention a few.

Which of the CK Eternity summer editions do you think is the best?

IMO, Dior Homme Cologne, in fact it should have been the original.

It probably was, if it wasn't for the focus groups...
