Men - Do You Wear Any Female Scents?!

Well, let me jump right into it, do any of you guys wear ladies EdP?
I know that some are freakishly anti towards this, but I couldn't care less,
if I like a scent, and it fits me, I will wear it, male or female.
Forgive me if this has been up before, as it probably has, but the search function
didn't do much for me when I checked..!

I use lots of female perfumes myself, some unisex, some very girlie.

For daily use, I own, and can wear things like;

- Armani Diamonds
- Hypnotic Poison (yeah, I can pull it off)
- Diors Dolce Vita
- Dior Addict
- Spellbound by Estée Lauder
... I'm into the sweet stuff as you can see

When it's partytime, I use perfumes like;

- Poison (love it or hate it - it's still a classic)
- 1 edt. Hot Couture de Givenchy
- Ysatis de Givenchy (smells like a grandma, but good)
- Sun Moon Stars by Lagerfeld (gotta love this)
- YSL Baby Doll

You may have guessed it; yes, I'm gay as a daisy,
str8 men couldn't pull off many of those, well, maybe
Addict, but they are too scary pants to try it on!

I must add, that I use mens perfumes the most,
but sometimes I smell something gorgeous, and
I just have to own it myself ... you know!

Disguss ...

Welcome to Basenotes! Nice to see another guy rocking Poison.

I wear many different female fragrances, even extremely floral or recognizable fragrances ( Fracas and No. 5, for example ), and have never had trouble or criticism from it. My favorite genres are florals and orientals, and many of the best ones are marketed to women.

Don't tell the straight guys they can't wear the sweet stuff, though, many of them are already fighting the gay cliche just for having this hobby, and how better to console yourself for ones heterosexuality being in question than a liberal application of Carnal Flower?

Oh yes, I forgot about that one,
I can pull that off too.

Duc, please do a forum search both here and in the Male Fragrance Discussion. This is a very popular topic with many past threads, some of which are not very old.

See, I did the search, just in the wrong forum,

Excusé moi!

Welcome. You'll find many guys (both straight and gay, but I'm queer) into "feminine marketed" fragrances here, including myself. Look at my wardrobe (just click the bottle under the avatar) and you'll see that I love genderjumping when it comes to scents. Aromachemicals don't have genitalia and most ladies' scents (especially the classics) are so much more interesting than much of what's on offer for guys (not all mind you, but a lot).

Why limit scent exploration? But you'll find some resistance of course. Just ignore... they don't know what they're missing.

Yeah, I have been cruising folks wardrobes,
but I cannot make my own, will be fixed
in a couple of days, as far as I understand.
... can't wait!

I have worn some perfumes in the past, but I don't currently own any. I like several feminine Chanels, #5 and 19 among them. Also, I like SJP Lovely a lot.

I wear and sample any fragrance that I damn well please. I am not bound by the marketing, advertising, labeling and packaging of a fragrance - as some others seem to be. It's all about whether I like the smell of the juice inside of the bottle or not.

Welcome to Basenotes!

Try wearing Ambre by Molinard, a lovely gentle amber to get snuggled up to - all clean and cuddly. New lover, roaring fires, fur rugs and toasted crumpets. I think it would be just lovely on a man. I don't guarantee the girls wouldn't leave you alone though.

Most of my wardrobe was female scents and I have only a handful which are masculine.

For now, I guess that any str8 man can pull off Ispahan by Yves Rocher effortlessly

Welcome, Le Grand Duc. Yes, many scent users often gender-bend and here on Basenotes, this topic has been discussed many times.

Again, welcome and enjoy.

Welcome to Basenotes Le Grand Duc - glad you wear whatever you want and so you should ! I know who to go see when I run out of Hypnotic Poison and Poison ! *GRIN*

I agree with all said here so far: wear whatever you want to wear. If it works for you, that's your business, your decision. Don't rely on anyone eles's assessment of "it's too girly," etc. If you need someone else's gender affirmation, you have deeper problems than basenotes can ever solve.

I cadge a quick spray of my wife's Opium now and then. I generally prefer the scents marketed as men's or unisex, but no, I'm not above squirt or two of stuff from my wife's collection. Love Chanel No. 5, too. Not afraid of wearing sweet colognes. Don't wear a lot of them, though.

I'm not quite sure, if that is pointed at me?!
I am a strong person, and I need no affirmation
from anybody on anything.
I just like to know what lady scents other dudes
use..! Thats all!

Not at all intended as a remark critical of Mr. Duc. I think this is a very cool question. Mr. Duc has it right - wear whatever you want, damn the torpedoes.

For that matter, there are a lot of women who wear "men's" scents... MPG Parfum d'Habit and Jardin du Nil, Aramis, Eau des Baux... Why limit one's selection of scent due to marketing.

BTW, the ELdO has a parody of men's v. women's scents called "Delicious Closet Queen": a masculine set of top notes with feminine mid and bottom notes. Very nice and enjoyable.

Yes, I just went out and I have come back sprayed liberally with Dior Homme from the Dior counter- I love Dior Homme. It's better than Prada's Infusion ,to me.

Hello from another living in Denmark! You can count us on one hand!

I wear a whole heap of ladies scents and I'm completely straight and have been married for 11 years!
My scent of the day today: Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess, because lets face it, I might as well try and bring some sunshine to this grey and miserable landscape!

Another Danish member whose life and collection is devoted to both masculine and feminine Guerlain scents is Mr. G. You can check out his wonderful homepage here: http://www.monsieurguerlain.com/

I recently read, I dunno who from, that in order to make a great masculine scent one should add "Pour Homme" to the name...

In other words, wear what you like and enjoy it!!

Btw... What great masculines are there out there for someone who is deeply in love with big white florals and gourmands? Would love to try a couple of masculines on myself...

Anyway, lets not hijack your own thread with "off topic" discourse.
