Platinum Egoiste/Fierce

I've been reading that Platinum Egoiste is similar to Fierce, but what I smell at the mall doesn't seem like the Egoiste sample I'm sniffing aside that they're both fresh..

Do you think these two are similar? Which do you prefer?

I prefer Fierce and IMO these two don't smell similar at all!

They are not alike. Of the two I prefer PE but can't really get over enthusiastic about either of them.

They both share aldehydes, lots of Iso-E, and a contemporary/classic use of petitgrain/rosemary/oakmoss/musk.
Although they share so much, their attitudes are very different.
Fierce is warm and inviting, and Platinum Egoiste is extremely arrogant, aloof, and somewhat chilling.
I prefer Fierce of the two, and would add Curve to that list as well.

But the best scent of this style imo is Maitre's Garrigue.
I strongly suspect that the drydown of Maitre's Garrigue was the direct or indirect inspiration for all 3 aforementioned scents.

haha i know this is an old thread but i was sniffing fierce today and it totally reminded me of a more friendly version of platinum egoiste (which i feel is heartless lol)

which one lasts longer? seems like fierce wears way closer to my skin...

I would say that Dullah's description of both is spot on. That was exactly my impression

Ive tried a shot of each on my arms and they are very much alike. PE is brighter and more sparkly while F is a little lighter.
I find PE lasts a long time.
They share at least the following notes:
rosemary
petit grain
jasmine
oakmoss

PE seems to divide opinion on BN.

I think many like it because it has Egoiste as part of its name, which is a justifiably revered fragrance.

I just like it because it smells great.

I prefer Platinum Egoiste over Fierce. PE seems brighter and sharper, while Fierce smells more "woody" to me. PE gives me a refreshing, exhilarating, clean feel, while Fierce smells like someone trying to be "macho" or overly masculine. In other words, PE seems to me like a confident, secure professional, while Fierce smells like a college guy trying to show off his brute strength.

I just sprayed Fierce on one arm an PE on the other and to my nose they definately smell similar.

PE smells clean, woody and classy. Fierce smells like citrus sweet musk. I prefer fierce and hate the topnotes of PE
